WITNESS has announced a partnership with global media company Viacom and launched a collaborative campaign: WITNESS THE POWER OF STORY.
Building on WITNESS’ expertise of inspiring action through video and Viacom’s history of using media to influence positive change, the two organizations are joining forces to support a new generation of visual storytellers for good. WITNESS has been working with Viacom’s brands through its social responsibility umbrella, Viacommunity, to produce a series of Public Service Announcements that will air on Viacom networks encouraging people to tell their story in order to create change.
“As a global media and entertainment company, Viacom has a unique opportunity to tell stories that spark movements. Our brands have long served as megaphones to raise our audiences’ voices on important issues,” said Philippe Dauman, Viacom President & CEO. “We are excited to join forces with WITNESS to give others the tools to use video to make a positive impact.”
As co-founder of WITNESS Peter added;
“Our goal at WITNESS is not only to support people using video to promote social change but also educate them on how to maximize the effectiveness of video. Our partnership with Viacom will help many more people understand the importance of filming as a tool for meaningful change.”
