The programme for the third STARMUS festival BEYOND THE HORIZON: TRIBUTE TO STEPHEN HAWKING (June 27-July 2, Canary Islands) has now been announced, with an exciting line up of 11 nobel prize scientists and science communicators such as Stephen Hawking, Roger Penrose, Richard Dawkins, Brian Cox, Jill Tarter, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Chris Hadfield among others. Musicians Hans Zimmer, Brian May, Sarah Brightman, Rick Wakeman, Brian Eno, prog rock band Anathema and a hip-hop singer MC Hawking will also be in attendance.

A central part of STARMUS III will be the award of the “Stephen Hawking Medal For Science Communication”, presented by Stephen Hawking himself, in recognitionfor of contributions to science popularization in the areas of Science, Art and Cinema.

As Garik Israelian, Founder and Director of STARMUS says, “STARMUS III invites, in this unique event, science experts and amateurs alike, along with the merely curious to plunge into the important threats and discoveries the world is facing at present.”

Peter alongside Stephen Hawking and Brian May are members of the STARMUS Advisory Board.

Due to touring commitments Peter won’t be able to attend the event this year, but sends his best wishes for a successful event.
