On Friday 8 December, Peter’s album i/o reached the #1 spot in the UK !
It’s Peter’s first UK Number 1 album since So, 37 years ago. In a hotly contested week of sales, i/o held off strong competition from Korean pop band Ateez and Michael Buble’s Christmas album.
“It was 37 years ago that ‘So’ was the number 1 album and I never expected to be here again. I’ve just been told that we are number 1 in the UK with i/o, so it’s amazing. I want to thank everyone that helped me make the album because it was a long, slow process, involving a lot of very talented people. But, mainly I need to thank all of you for supporting me for all this time and for making this happen. Thank you.” – pg
The album is also performing strongly in many other markets, with other chart positions now confirmed too:
