Peter's June 09 Update

June's Full Moon finds The Wrting Room a hive of activity around the 'Scratch My Back' project. Peter tells us that "You may be hearing it sooner than never and sooner than I normally mean when I say sooner" We also hear about a meeting of The Elders in The Atlas mountains, ideas for cooling the brain with Heath Robinson like ingenuity - does a cool head lead to quicker thinking? There's been an productive strategy meeting for Witness in London and Peter tells us that his drive to raise funds for the organization should see another live show from him in Europe this summer or later in the autumn. We also hear news of a fantastic project to build a new arts/performance centre for the Zawose Family in Bagamoyo and Peter gets in a plug for Real World Records releases by Spiro, Dub Colossus and Dengue Fever and music from Charlie Winston on The B&W Society of Sound.


Peter's May 09 update

Peter talks about progress on his 'scratch my back' covers project, with Bob Ezrin and John Metcalf both in the studio to work on the project. We get a report on the success of the recent WOMAD Abu Dhabi where Robert Plant made a special guest appearance with Justin Adams and Juldeh Camera whose new Real World Records release Tell No Lies is out on May 11th.

Peter gives a mention to the many Real World Records artists are to be found playing live at venues around the world in the coming months, amongst whom is Mamer, a singer/songwriter who was raised in Xinjiang, one of ten children for whom singing and playing the two-string dombra lute was as much a part of life as sunrise.


Peter's April 09 update

Peter recounts tales of recent travels and tour dates in Mexico and Latin America, music, warmth, human rights campaigning, sickness and happy memories from 18 days on the road. We also hear about Speed Caravan, the current inhabitants of Real World's Big Room, new music from Justin Adams and Juldeh Camera, a great new release by Mamer recorded in Urumqi and Beijing and an animation competition running with Aardman Animations.


Peter's March 09 update

Peter's March update finds him on an airbase not far from Real World with band in full production rehearsals for the shows in Mexico and South America later this month. Peter talks about the rehearsals, the Encore Series, Charlie Winston's continued success in France, being bitten by a 'Slumdog' at the Oscars and the current release on the B&W music Club by Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara.


Peter's February 09 Update

Peter talks about a spate of award nominations and ceremonies including the Golden Globe Awards, the Grammy Awards and the Oscars, all of which have 'Down To Earth' from Walle in ther short lists. Enriching 'brain food' is recounted, having been eaten both at The World Economic forum and TED in the last couple of weeks. There is news of music from Charlie Winston and Spiro, whose track 'Antrobus' features in this month's video. If that and the details missing from this description were not news a plenty, Peter also has an update on the forthcoming tour dates, 'Games Without Frontiers' on Real World Remixed and his work on the 'Scratch My Back' covers project in the studio.


Peter's January 09 update

Amongst the natural highlights to be found in this months update are an Otter and a Kingfisher. Peter also tells us about the nomination of 'Down To Earth' from the Walle soundtrack at The Golden Globe Awards; which means he'll be seeing this months full moon hanging over Los Angeles, Charlie Winston's success in France with 'Like a Hobo' (which is also the music featured in this months update). holiday trips and various frosty and wet developments Real World.


Peter's December update

Peter talks about a trip to Armenia this year for a celebration of Djivan Gasparyan's 80th birthday, a flying visit to New York for the Witness Gala Benefit and the official launch of The Hub, a gathering of The Elders in Paris, his 'scratch my back' covers album project and the first confirmed tour dates for 2009.


Peter's November update

Peter talks about the joys of November in Sardinia, his 'Scratch my Back' project, a chance to see Dengue Fever at Real World Studios and their new 7" single (only the second 7" vinyl released on Real World Records). On top of that comes WOMAD Charlton Park tickets and Peter's hosting of the Witness Gala Dinner in New York next week.


Peter's October Update

Peter talks about his performance at the Peace One Day event in London, receiving the Quadriga award "United We Care" in Germany, the soundtrack award for Walle, our Dub Colossus competition at realworldremixed.com and current work on technology and music projects.

Peter's September update

Peter's back from his summer in Sardinia with tales of an award from Amnesty International and promotion for their Small Places Tour. There's news of his appearance on September 21st at the Peace One Day concert in The Royal Albert Hall, our Dub Colossus remix competition, work in the studio and a tribute to the much missed Hector Zazou who died this week.

The music featured is 'Tushim' from Sevara Nazarkhan's Sen.

Peter's July Update

Peter's doing the right thing and taking a month off from Full Moon updates in order to fully pursue his increased paternal responsibilities.
