Born in Brooklyn New York, my mother recognized my musical interests as an infant, when pots, pans and wooden spoons gave me much musical joy. There's been no turning back but many detours. Musical Journey includes Indian Classical Music studies with Vasant Rai and Vishwanath Misra, guest appearance with Babatunde Olatunji, national Drum Corps champion and lots of wonderful gigs from CBGBS to Knitting Factory and a million singer songwiriter shows. When I was invited to appear onstage with Ravi Shankar, Allah Rakha, Zakir Hussein and Yehudi Menuin at NYC's Lincoln Center, my goose was cooked. Not famous. Not even close. But I bring my heart to every moment at the drum - hoping music might bless me with her presence once more. When I get out of the way she does. Peaceand nod of respect to musicians everywhere.
