Peter Gabriel Dating History
Who is Marie Helvin???
I know, I know - none of my business but I'm bored ( I don't think that's a picture of Jill) and the chick (Fracesca Gonshaw) from the Digging in the Dirt video?
Peter Gabriel and Marie Helvin 1993
From Marie Helvin`s autobiography: "Then I saw Peter Gabriel on MTV. He was my type of man. And by complete chance, I met one of his agents, who invited me down to visit Peter`s studios in Bath. As soon as we met, there was that connection, that livewire charge that tells you something is going...

He dated Laurie Anderson and Kate Bush???
AFAIK only to work with them...
Mirrorball24 January at 12:36pmPosts: 1620 (0 today)Status: offline
Well I never believe all the words that are written on the internet, besides that my opinion is : Peter deserves to have a private life. I'm not really interested in these kind of things.
Mirrorball24 January at 12:37pmPosts: 1620 (0 today)Status: offline
Page... your fire-proof pants words are very funny...lol
1) That's not Jill;
2) Anderson & Bush - only working relationships;
3) I saw pictures of PG with is an asian looking girl (very pretty) who's not listed there;
4) It's none of our business, true, but PG is a public figure so he must deal with it.

Marie Helvin is (or was) a model and she was married to the well-known photographer David Bailey, in the 1980s and 90s I think.
Page24 January at 1:26pmPosts: 814 (0 today)Status: offline
Yep, and since we don't have any new Peter Gabriel news - we must delve into his dark sordid past - lol
I was chatting with a Rock101 (Vancouver) deejay recently and he said during that time Peter was a real "sex-machine" I sure hope he didn't put our chat on air - I changed stations so I wouldn't hear if he did - when the deejay mentioned Rosanna Arquette the first thing I said, "I hate her" lol
I wonder if Pete misses his "sex machine" days, now he's all settled and a family man - he must have a lot of great memories - stuff a autobiography is made of perhaps lol
Marie Helvin (born August 13, 1952 in Tokyo, Japan) is a fashion model, who worked extensively with David Bailey—to whom she was married between 1975–85. In the 1970s and 1980s she appeared in many fashion stories for British Vogue and posed for a series of nude photographs made by David Bailey, which were published in his 1980 book Trouble and Strife.
They went on to collaborate on four more photograohic books and continued to work on multiple stories for British, French and Italian Vogues. Marie Helvin is often referred to as one of the most beautiful women of our time, named as one of the top 30 supermodels of all time in Channel 5's "World's greatest supermodel"
She launched her own collection of body/swimwear range in 1990 and went on to produce seasonal collections which sold worldwide. She published two books, made a health and fitness video, appeared on television and presented several programmes including GMTV's series Helvin on Hawaii, which featured her philosophies on health and beauty.
Helvin remains in the forefront of the fashion industry, appearing as a judge in Britain's Next Top Model, and with appearances in British Vogue and the US W magazine, features in Sunday Times Style and You magazine, and a retrospective in Harper's Bazaar. She[when?] appeared on her 7th British Vogue cover in 2007.
Her autobiography was released in autumn 2007 by Weidenfeld & Nicolson and published in paperback in September 2008 by Phoenix. The Sunday Times has called the book "funny, naughty, sexy, revelatory
Peter Gabriel and Claudia Schiffer July 1993
"After the 1st leg of the "Secret World-tour" was finished in the summer of 1993 Peter Gabriel had a little affair with Claudia Schiffer -both were photographed on boat somewhere near Ibiza."
I remember seeing that pic and disappointed that he was doing the rock cliche of dating a model - guess he had more than one model
Well, I say, good for him - if you got it flaunt it, and after coming out of a long marriage it must have been a blast
Ayla, still got my flame proof pants on - cause this is the kind of topic that can bring out the purists and the PG can do no wrong group and if he does don't talk about it

Are you posting these kind of things because you're bored ?
Page24 January at 3:50pmPosts: 814 (0 today)Status: offline
Ayla "These kind of things"
I like the caricature, that's what caricatures are about. And PG is a public figure or that web page would not exist - the best way to disagree with a thread or one you don't approve of is to ignore.
I think I posted just to have a little fun with Peter's past, I don't think it's anything he should be ashamed of - he was a young good looking single rock star doing what rock stars do - any man or woman here would have had fun too - he's in the public eye so it makes news.
This certainly hasn't been a put down of Mr. G - I was just surprise at some of the names, like never heard of them - and that super-model Marie Helvin, wrote about meeting Peter and the physical attraction they had for each other in her book -
I wonder how many die hard PG fans new about that
Peter is not that person anymore - he's settled down and a happy family man - good for him
Mirrorball24 January at 3:57pmPosts: 1620 (0 today)Status: offline
Peter deserves more respect. I really hate all the gossip about him.
I didn't check the caricature .
Mirrorball24 January at 4:09pmPosts: 1620 (0 today)Status: offline
But we all have different opinions here.
Page24 January at 6:53pmPosts: 814 (0 today)Status: offline
That's not gossip it's facts and I think he has a strong sense of humour about his past - I know I do
Page24 January at 6:54pmPosts: 814 (0 today)Status: offline
If the cats away the mice are going to play
Mirrorball24 January at 11:24pmPosts: 1620 (0 today)Status: offline
Well I see it as gossip to post that kind of things here. But I don't want to argue about that.
Keep your flame proof pants on....lol
Page24 January at 11:51pmPosts: 814 (0 today)Status: offline
I'm not arguing, but I will keep my flame proof pants on - and there have been 119 views so far - which is pretty funny all by itself. I like that he was considered a "sex machine" in the 90's - wish I could have met him then

Hi there Lunatics,
I probably should not add anything here, but will do so anyway simply because I made the effort to visit the page here today and was reading the various topics on the front page of the forums (I usually only look at the "front page" stuff -- especially if it's something that I haven't seen before).
For Page -- Although I understand your reason for gathering some information to keep this place alive a bit, and as Ayla said, everyone has their own opinion, I did want to comment on this page in particular regarding some of what you wrote.
I, too, think your comment about the fire-proof pants is funny and understand your meaning behind it. Unfortunately (and I could be wrong here), there aren't very many lunatics here who want to engage in any kind of conversation, let alone flaming another. (It seems they've lost their flames now . . . perhaps in due time, it'll happen again, who knows?). In any case, you might want to put those fire-proof pants away for the moment and just enjoy the cool, quiet of this place
As far as your topic of choice -- I must say that although some of the information is old and some of it is new to me -- it really has never mattered to me what PG does with his personal life. If he was married to me, well, that's a different story; otherwise, I'm not at all interested in his personal life -- married or otherwise. At least not in the sense that this topic is discussing.
You wrote a few comments that I'd like to help me clarify for you how I don't necessarily agree with the "need to know" --
You wrote: "Ayla, still got my flame proof pants on - cause this is the kind of topic that can bring out the purists and the PG can do no wrong group and if he does don't talk about it"
I am an avid, long-time fan of PG. I admire the man very much, but I know that he is human, has his faults (probably why I could never marry him ) and realize that he has done things in his past that he's not entirely pleased about (as have all of us) -- I am not throwing flames at you or your posts, nor am I a "purist", but plainly simple . . . I just don't care enough about his private, personal business enough to dig it up or defend him/it. It is what it is. Or, better put, it was what it was.
As far as him being a sex machine . . . that almost made me laugh. He's most certainly a very good looking man and definitely has great sex appeal (to me, anyway), but again, I have never found it necessary to judge him for who he might have been with, how many times, etc., Your comment, "Well, I say, good for him - if you got it flaunt it, and after coming out of a long marriage it must have been a blast" -- that comment's a little strange to me, flaunt it, yeah, but because he had just ended a long marriage??? really?? During the course of his long marriage, he had children and celebrity or not, sex machine or not, the period of time when he was having marital problems, subsequent divorce and a few girlfriends all had an impact on him, his ex-wife and his children. I'm just not really sure that coming out of a long marriage warrants a person to flaunt his good times. Perhaps I really just don't understand your statement, but I never saw his post-marriage days as being overly happy; I'd venture to say they were probably some of the worst days of his life.
Lastly, I agree with Ayla that this "news" hovers on the edge of "gossip" -- even facts can be gossip, but I'm sure you know that. I could tell a story about someone I know who does drugs, sleeps around, etc., and the information could be "factual" but it's "gossip" when it's just not important information and meant to cause judgment on someone else. (Of course, that's just my opinion).
So, as Ayla has said and as I'm sure you agree -- the information is there, you found it and posted it to give some topics to discuss and many of us knew some of it, or none of it (which is pretty much where I stand) and our opinions on it differ. You commented, "I wonder how many die hard PG fans new about that" (regarding the various women PG had) and my answer to that is the same as I've written above -- I'm a die-hard PG fan, always have been, always will be, but quite honestly, I didn't know about the info, but don't really need to know it; it's not necessary to know that sort of stuff to be a "die-hard" PG fan, I don't think.
I've often said, there are so many lunatics here who only know this side of me -- the side that goes on and on about my admiration of PG and my experiences at his shows, etc., but if that is all a person knows about me, they don't know anything at all about me because I have so much more to my life -- this is but one small part of me (and I'm happy with it, don't get me wrong). Therefore, I could never expect to know all of PG -- I only know the very small part he shows the world and I'm happy to have just that part of him.

I didn't gather the infomation - I just stumbled on one page when I was looking for something else

Page25 January at 6:01amPosts: 814 (0 today)Status: offline

Just have fun with it - Peter is a happily marriage man, and very settled down, maybe settled down too much - anyway - 20 years ago - she was a pretty lady that's for sure
Mirrorball25 January at 8:29amPosts: 1620 (0 today)Status: offline
Wise words Pat...
I never heard somebody talking about Peter Gabriel the way you do Page.
I'm a long time fan too. many of my friends liked his music too.
Your words..."I sure hope he didn't put our chat on air "...
Then why are you posting it ?
Just one deejay told you this.
Maybe you are having fun with it..but I'm sure not all fans will think this gossip is funny.
About the caricature, I do not like it because he's looking way to old and that's not funny...lol
For now I'm out of this topic.
