Our hero is not here now. So, while missing (of course), a little devil impact inside says: Mmh, this and that was/is not so good, Mr. Gabriel!!! For me it's my impression, that with all his humanity approach, he sometimes intends just to please majority sense by people with influence. Ok, that's a way of surviving, but... ?

Let's see... - a bunch of songs range from awful to not-so-good: Out Out, Big Time, Steam, Love to Be Loved and some other; - production on some albums (II, US) is sub-par; - Long Walk Home sucks; - Big Blue Ball sucks even more; - OvO should have been sung entirely by him; - some of his band lineups upset me (ditch Manu already!) ; - "I don't look at the past" when asked about a Genesis reunion - and then three consecutive tours with old material. What's not good for 'The Lamb' is good for So apparently; - too many distractions: nowadays I am afraid PG is first a businessman, then an activist and at last (and least) a musician.

While the cats away the mice will play I didn't like The Barry Williams Show, it was so full of negative imagery, when it came on the radio, I'd turn it off - I liked the cuteness of Kiss that Frog, but not some people's interpretation of its meaning - only liked Sky Blue and Growing Up on the Up cd I think the "cat" or is that "cool cat" may check in from time to time to make sure his mice are behaving themselves.

Peter Gabriel - Strawberry Fields Forever https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBXXqpOq9po It sounds like he's channeling Kermit the Frog - what was he thinking?
Caste the werehamste 2 January at 5:10pm Posts: 86 (0 today) Status: offline
About Miss Piggy.
Page 2 January at 6:08pm Posts: 814 (0 today) Status: offline
If Kermie and Miss Piggy had a litter, would they be frigs or progs???
Caste the werehamste 2 January at 6:14pm Posts: 86 (0 today) Status: offline
Progs! And they call would be "squonk" - and they' d squonk in 9/8.
Page 2 January at 9:16pm Posts: 814 (0 today) Status: offline
I thought they would have squonk like bunnies to get a litter of progs

I was dissapointed that he did not play My Body Is A Cage for the 2011 New Blood tour (Red Rocks) but the show was still great.

Albums are a matter of taste UP is actually one of my favorites.
Page 3 January at 1:43am Posts: 814 (0 today) Status: offline
Nope I'm Down with Up - my fave album would have to be SO
Progressive jen 3 January at 2:37am Posts: 5473 (0 today) Status: offline
Favorites for me Passion UP US Security SO
Page 3 January at 3:55am Posts: 814 (0 today) Status: offline
On Security I think my fave song is his ode to the fat chick - Kiss of Life - no particular reason - whistling innocently

ha ha I love The Family & The Fishing Net, San Jacinto and Wallflower the most. But really all the songs on Security are pretty great.

I love The Family and the Fishing Net - can't really like Wallflower, reminds me of bad events and bad people in my youth - so it's not the song itself, but the memories it brings up, so I never listen to it I used to use Rhythm of the Heat to exercise, until I was gyrating happying to the Rhythm of the Heat, spun around to see a Mountie at the front door, the neighbours complained about the loud music - now that was embarrassing Security was my first PG cd, album - well it was neither - the needle wore out on the record player - and my then hubby wouldn't replace it, (he was very controlling) so I had to get Security on cassette -

peter gabriel (1982) aka IV is simply the all time best Rock album together with The Lamb. No weak points. Strong, consistent, coherent. A masterpiece.

Miss Piggy, Hommage to Fat Chicken, ....??? Did I ask for that? BTW: PG's women are always more androgyn (figurmäßig)... But you as hobby- psychoanalysts might know, what that means: Ödipus and H&H-conflict,... mmh

Now to something completely different: Yesterday I saw Richard Branson ... in a documentary about flying into space for everyone... not now, because too expensive, but they showed, that even a 92 years old man can be fit enough to cope the stresses and strains. So, I understand , that a kind of warm money blanket can allow you to stay child-like adult, that tries to realize your dreams in an extraordinary dimension, I also believe, that this is possible in every dimension!! As long as you find the place to be yourself! Harvey and I already had some great experiences..

I am disappointed for one thing: he can , if only he would, sing "Carpet crawlers" in his concerts, a simple song, not too much difficult for him to sing and play . It would be a great gift to all people that follow him for a long long time. BUT doesn't want to hear anything that has to do with a word of seven letters: Genesis. . . .
