Don't get me wrong, i'm very happy Mr. G can take a year off and travel but I miss him! There is a feeling of security I get knowing he is working in his studio. I'm not getting any younger and I REALLY need a pg concert. Hurry back Peter!

If you call what he did since 2002 "working", I'd like you to be my employer.

He must have some kind of writer's block - maybe we can send him good songwriting vibes and break that blockhead er
I mean tear down that writer's block Mr. Gabriel

I would have to disagree -- I don't miss him because he's really not gone -- this year is no different than other years when he's not actively present. I think it's because he actually announced the fact that he was taking a year off that causes many of us to miss him.
I know that he hasn't put out very much new material for a long time and with that, I agree, I would love to hear some new stuff. I think that he took a few different paths (orchestra, etc.,) so for him, he's experiencing new things which is satisfying to him - - and the bottom line is, that's important to keep him motivated.
PG has mentioned in several interviews that writing lyrics is difficult for him (whereas the music comes more easily). I was actually surprised to learn of that because I think the man writes the most powerful, wonderful lyrics and they sound so "easy" -- cleverly written words, for sure, but I've always thought they just flowed easily from him. Turns out, that's not the case.
I don't think PG has a writer's block. I believe that when he told us he wanted to take a "year of interesting things" off, he was being completely honest -- he just wants to take a vacation like so many of us do. He is more than entitled to having time with his family and it makes sense to me for him to do it now (especially since he's already put it off by a number of years). I'm glad and happy for him. I hope he's have a wonderful time and who knows, lyrics might be flowing easily from him. You don't think that because he's taking a year off that his creative mind is left behind on a shelf, do you?
This year of interesting things might produce some of the very best material to come out of the man, but even if it doesn't, I'm happy that he's taking time for himself -- he deserves it.
Speaking of a year off -- have you seen his touring schedule for Europe 2013? It's booking up quite nicely and at this point, he's got only nine more months to relax . . . October will be here before you know it!
Kind regards,

I think he's a proud man and would have a hard time admitting to have severe writers block - he may be hope a major change, like travelling the world will shake up his psyche and get things flowing in that brain/soul of his

Missing him, but looking forward to the family slide show when he gets back. OK, hoping there will be a 'slide' show when he gets back. Yeah, I'm weird, I loved the family/friend trip slide shows other people seem to moan about.

And I have a feeling that pg's slideshow would be fascinating and very well done, perhaps with some new music in the background.

Yeah, I'm hoping the time goes by quickly...it really already has.
