Perhaps this puts those all those dee-lux box sets, art prints and "vip" ticket prices into some sort of context. . . and it's all stuff that's 10-20-30 yeas old. There are too many people in this world who are so disgustingly rich. . . while so many struggle to get by. . . it makes me want to puke. I don't think I can really call myself a fan anymore. . . . for a long time I've felt it's become an increasingly tired pursuit that's just about milking the nostalgic fans of money. Back to front says it all.

Nothing wrong with being wealthy. Peter gives of his resources and himself to many charitable causes. From what I've read Phil Collins has at least double that but he also gives to charity. There are the Bill Gates type wealthy of this world (yay) and the Koch Brothers type (boo) Nothing wrong with money, it's what you do with it.

Thanks for the info on PG's income -- it truly is not something I even consider, whether I'm a fan or not. As long as no one does any harm to me or someone I love, I basically live with the motto, "To each his/her own" I'm glad that PG is successful, as well as many others. I'd much rather know that someone like him is able to "share the wealth" a bit -- and he does, just as others do (as Jen mentioned above). It's interesting that this is a topic. A former hospital where I once worked was just highlighted on 60 Minutes (not ever a good thing) -- the corporation -- HMA - Health Management Associates (for inquiring minds) (I personally have always referred to them as "Healthcare My Ass" but their official corporate title is HMA). Anyway, HMA is under investigation by the Dept. of Justice for having some questionable practices which enables them to make the profits they make -- namely, forcing their ER doctors (and others, I'm sure) to admit a specific percentage of patients -- regardless of their medical condition -- for these doctors, it was "admit or else . . . " The CEO of HMA made @ 11 million dollars last year . . . in the most unscrupulous way/manner, so when all is said and done, I'd just as soon have my money go towards a person/business with some good morals and ethics -- both of which I believe PG to have. I do not understand where is the problem! All artists who sold also one album in the world are rich. All artists of "revolution" of 60's or 70's like Who, Clash, Patty Smith and others today are rich. Artists from "working class" who fought causes for people who do not have nothing , today they are all rich! I saw an interview to Alice Cooper, he said that today his sons go to the best schools and he made a very rich life, but when he is on stage he wears the mask of "terrible" Alice Cooper. If we argue according to this principle, we have to apply it for everyone, not only for Peter. I disagree, because personally i see at the soul of an Artist, so if i see on stage Roger Daltrey, or Pete Townshend, or Jimmy Page or Robert Plant or Patty Smith i do not think "Ah, you are rich, bleah!". NO. I admire their talents, their incredible passion for music, their incredible power of their messages, because they believed in something and also today they have an incredible power of expression. They have to stay on stage, because they are born with something special. . . .. and Peter?
