Mumzy -- Were you there? If so, you might recall how we were asked to take photos only during the first 3 songs and not afterwards. I realize that there must be some video out there (always is), but I'm not sure what's available and who would have it (or at least, who would admit to having it). That Big Room Gig was THE most memorable PG experience I have ever had -- nothing to date has ever surpassed it. The sheer fact that it was so small, so private and in the best possible place to see him -- in his own studios, well, not much can top it. The whole experience was great -- from the reception to the show, it was all wonderful. I was there with Deb Grant -- together, we both still talk about it being such a great time. I can remember that neither one of us quite believed that we were going to the show -- flying from Philly to London and then traveling to Bath by train -- we kept joking with each other how we were probably going to be met by security/police when we arrived at RealWorld Studios -- PG probably wanted to keep an eye on us for his own good -- but we didnt' care, at least we were there, yeah?! I cannot believe it's been that long since that show, but rest assured, it still remains my favorite time. I'd love to see some video of that show, but as I've said, I'm not sure if any "unofficial" video exists. Kind regards . . . and thanks for the memories!

Hey Pat. Did you guys have pictures taken at the wine and cheese party with Peter? I took pics for a couple from the states and they took pics of Roy and I which I have all around our house. Years ago there was pics on peters real world site but I can't find them. They are great memories!!!

Mumzy, I have a few pics from the party and I took one of Deb with Peter and then someone took a pic of Deb, Peter and me. We asked Peter to hold a sign which read, "Thanks, Doug!" because it was the kindness of Doug which allowed Deb Grant and I to go to the show (long story for another time). I do have other pics of that whole night -- a few others at the party, several during the show (during the first 3 songs) and then some afterwards, including the swan -- that famous "security" swan as I always call it. It's funny that you should mention having the photos around your house -- when I moved into my home here a few years ago, I had no photos anywhere (still don't have anything on the walls) and the only photos I placed on the mantel were: the pic of PG and me (taken that night) and my dog, Dustydog! Even my family would laugh because they knew that they were two very important photos for me . BTW -- that's a great pic of you in your profile! Kind regards

That night and the brighton gig the next day were two of my best gigs ever. From memory i think real world did film it themselves as they mentioned it would hopefully be put on the website but it never made it. I hope they still have the footage and give it to us as a 10th ani gift ! I don't think video camera phones were around then as i only have stills from the top of the show but i do have all the audio. I am even on the recording at the very end, if anyone wants it let me know. We only just made it in time for the meet and greet but i got a photo and a poster signed and both are on my walk like you. I took loads the next night and one of the few times printed them off to make an album which has pride of place on my coffee table.

Cebs, when you say you have a recording do you mean the "officially released" one or a private tape? It was available with plenty of difficulties as a download not from pg.com but through the now vanished OD2 website (and Tiscali as well, if I'm not mistaken). I managed to buy a copy, but was very disappointed in finding out that unfortunately, though the recording was complete, they were only .wma mono files...

Oh, and mumzy: you will soon have mail
cebs 28 November 2012 at 8:51pm Posts: 144 (0 today) Status: offline
i didn't have the kit back then to make my own but i bought the proper release. I dont remember them being mono but view had drm and once the machine i bought them on died i couldn't get them to play. I had the same issue with up 5.1 files but never fixed that one. This event was linked too from a previous thread and i got it all again in 2010 and was pleased to hear it again. The old thread is probably in the live section but if anyone wants it send me a mail and when i get home at the weekend i'll sort you out. D.phelan@yahoo.co.uk
