It is a pretty divided country, no question.
But the process has prevailed and fortunately, the more rational and open-minded candidate still holds office. The opposing party is a bastion of backward ignorance and stupidity; lack any humility or critical judgement as evidenced by a mindless nodding along with anything spewed out by Fox News.
Owned by that "privacy - violator" Murdoch, a name that I'm sure the citizens of Great Britain might not hold in the highest regard.

I feel we have dodged a bullet, but only time will tell if we can ever really become the progressive country we once were again. I have hope for at least a little while.
However here in Illinois, a supposedly democratic state, though I think our democrats are a bit confused here sometimes, just passed law that gives the minority power over the majority when it comes to teachers pensions and such. I find this odd as I thought a democracy was about doing what the majority wants.
Now Colorado on the other hand, the new law they passed should prove interesting...
