About the 25th So remastered versions .... How far can you go? I bought the whole PG catalogue on SACD that was mentioned to be the ultimate created sound possible. Still great I did buy the albums but it also costed me a fortune back then. Now again a 4th remastered version of So. Only in the expensive box-set I can get the DVD and some more extra's. It would have been worth while buying this set, if the So album and the Live in Athens were put on SACD or DVD audio as a 5.1 mix. The DVD Live in Athens is mixed in 5.1 so why not use that audio to enjoy a wonderful audio experience? To have So and Live in Athens in 5.1 really would be the right step for me investing in over € 125,00. And what was mentioned earlier ..... why not include a BluRay version of the concert. As being a huge fan for the first time I feel cheated with this release. Having said this I am still curious if there will be a future separate release of Live in Athens as being a BluRay/DVD package. Peter's inventive creativity might even bring him to release his whole catalogue on 5.1 surround. Discussions about that already passed the line before.

... Talk about re-mastering and re-doing the same thing over and over?? ???

Very annoying

I do think it is just a glitch, but one can never tell these days. In the meantime, I'm trying to bump threads to the top to get rid of the other repeated threads. That would be the only way to know for sure I guess, unless the author posts something here. And not to squash someone's opinion, but hasn't the whole "So Remastering and Remastering and Remastering" topic been on here in multiple places, topics, multiple times with multiple arguments? I'm just not sure what we get out of it all -- certainly we can each acknowledge our opinions and yes, it is good to know that many feel the same way, but me thinks it's a bit too late to think that anything in the package is going to change at this point . . . perhaps in the next remastering package, they'll get it right.

Ha ha!

To clarify my comment above about getting it right the next time...let me say that this package was right with me, it's just that for those who don't like it that perhaps the next pkg. will be the right stuff for them.

I just bought the box set. I thought they would have used one of those 100 pictures of So memorabilia from my collection I sent to Real World. But nothing! Very disappointed.
Pat Parker 20 October 2012 at 7:14pm Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
Yet one more thing for fans to be upset about, I guess. Sorry that they didn't use any of your material, perhaps they meant to but it might have gotten shelved with some other ideas and plans. The fact that you have 100 pictures (and more, I'm sure) of So memorabilia is quite impressive -- perhaps you can share it somewhere here? I'm sure many of us would love to see it and be a bit envious of your collection -- I know it's not the same as having it published, but we lunatics make a great audience . Kind regards,

Do you remember the PG Facebook page promised some time ago a pair of microphones Peter used during the New Blood tour...Nothing happened. I begin to understand it's a way to create the buzz, but nothing else.
Pat Parker 20 October 2012 at 7:53pm Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
Sorry about that, Sammy. I can understand completely why you're upset. Don't know what to think of it all, quite honestly. Just wondering if someone did get the pair of microphones anyway? I don't think that any winners from VIP tix this year were announced either, but I imagine there were winners -- perhaps it's one of those glitches that occurs when there are many things going on at once.

next time RW requests Fans participation, the best thing to do is to ignore isn't it ?
Pat Parker 20 October 2012 at 10:40pm Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
or if a fan wants to participate, and needs to know exactly all the details, they could write and inquire and then make a decision based on the answer, I suppose. I didn't submit anything -- not because I wouldn't have, but I remember it was around the holidays and it was too busy of a time for me to go rummaging through my box of PG -- it's organized to some degree, but not exactly in a chronological sense. (I'll have to work on that I suppose -- for the next possible project). I am looking forward to the whole package though and hope it gets here sooner rather than later. I'll keep you posted!

I am very sorry something went wrong with putting my comment here earlier. Of course 9 Times the same story is too much and wasn't meant to be done. After pushing "Share your opinion" it didn't seem to work so that's why I pushed again and again. Also tried to delete it but for me that's impossible. Hope I set it straight now.
Pat Parker 21 October 2012 at 2:16am Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
Tomas020 -- no worries at all -- it's happened to us before and that's why I thought it was just a glitch that happened. Kind regards,

This marketing thing is also annoying to me- or- boring. No fullmoon reports any more, but lots of merchandising. OK, they have to earn their money, but it's a style I don't like, anonym and not handled with care. What Sammy told, is not fair to him . I stopped sending anything for PG himself (handmade prints, scarf and cap, ceramics, e-mailed fotos,....)- never a reaction, perhaps a taken inspiration, ..I don't like that. Don't know, who takes that all. No good style, I have to say. Really no good..
Sammy The Slug 21 October 2012 at 11:45am Posts: 1040 (0 today) Status: offline
Why did they ask us to submit memorabilia from So if it was to use nothing? Very strange marketing....
Pat Parker 21 October 2012 at 1:26pm Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
I'm not really sure what happened with all of that (for the SO project) either and you're right, it does seem rather strange that it wasn't used. From what you can tell (without giving it all away because I haven't received mine yet and would like to have a bit of a surprise ), but from your package, does it appear as if anything was used from the fans? -- Just wondering if only some things were chosen and not others? Also, is there anything written about it in credits, etc.? For R.I.S.E. -- I can understand your frustration also and I think it's true of the current RW team -- I imagine that a few years ago (when Tina left) that during those changes that were made, they had decided that there would no longer be one person devoted to PG fans, correspondence, receiver of gifts, quiz maker, etc. -- I, also, really miss those days and the contact that we seemed to have with PG. At the time that Tina left, I think a decision was made that it would be a good time to have a person take over the handling of correspondence (Rachael), but that it would no longer be the sole job of someone to respond personally to each and ever piece of mail (regular and/or e-mail) -- which is how it had always been from the beginning. It's understandable that one person cannot handle all the correspondence that PG must get these days (sorta makes me long for the old days when he had just a cult following ). During that time (a few years ago), RW was going through some changes and that's when they listed the "Important Information" (under the FAQs section -- listed below here under Details about us). In the meantime, I think they (RW) try to do what they can to keep in contact with fans, but as you've noted, it's just not the same. I wish that we still had the quiz and/or contests from time to time, I wish there was another Tina-type person (or better yet, Tina, herself! ). This is not to criticize Rachael, who I'm sure does a great job. As for gift-giving and wondering what happens to them -- I honestly have never given it any thought. I still will periodically send a gift when the spirit moves me, but honestly, I have never really sent gifts to PG, himself (other than a special birthday gift which a few of us lunatics went in on). My gifts have always been to the people with whom I've had contact -- Penny, Tina, etc., -- and they're usually edible -- chocolates , so if they don't use them, it's their loss (and of course, if they choose to eat them, it's their "gain" ). Kind regards to all

i allowed my thread on the subject die awhile back, but let me remind some lunatics of a few predictions. mainly, i argued that the issues that were discussed during the pre-sale would resurface with greater strength once the box set was released. people are now seeing the product for the first time. are you planning to soon move to amazon to continue the badgering of those providing criticisms? recall, i specifically asked PG management team to directly address what material submitted by fans was used in the book. it now appears that the request for submissions was yet another publicity stunt to give us something to do while awaiting further delays. this sort of negligence hurts some of our most dedicated fans. moreover, new issues are emerging such as reports that the "fix" (download code) is not working.
