The first one was so bad it was insulting - this one, from what I heard, is just bland and pointless (and the singers attempting to remake PG's vocals, as almost any singer has done since 1976, fail miserably).

Maybe caste, but in between the two Mr Hackett has gone through the tunnel's mouth, and maybe some new light has been found there ...... We'll see. But as I personaly I won't be expecting any Gabrielesian show here, I have to admit that attending a concert during the tour following this cd issue would be a great alternative.

don't know but it would be just a wonder in itself. Here is what I did find, as far as Nad Sylvan is concerned - Eleven earls of mar ( roll on the drum ......) - The musical box and - The chamber of 32 doorsssssssss for aditional singers : Steven Wilson, Nik Kershaw and John Wetton among others .... for the tour : Thing is - this will go on the road in 2013, and Steve wants me ( Nad Sylvan) to perform the whole show as his singer and frontman, singing old Genesis classics http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=86943 just one thing to say : could I fell aslepp right now and just awake at the begining of 2013 ??!!

Caste, how did you listen to the album, if it comes out in October? Ok, i have to say i agree with you Little Rainbow , no expectation, Peter Gabriel is ONE, nobody in the world and galaxy could even close to Peter's voice and personality. Personally i thought it was an instrumental album, i have to admit i have fear to voices that try to sing Genesis's music. Supper's ready?? I know that Nick Kersaw will sing "The Lamia"!!! God, please, give me the strenght to be able to survive to listen to the songs without Peterrrrr!!! I know that Steve is fantastic and he will play like only him can play, in a fantastic way! BUT, for me, the problem is always the singer, because Gabriel is. . .. Gabriel. . . .no words to explain! I do not want to die young!!

Sorry, but Mr. Hackett makes music, when Mr. Gabriel is opening a Megastore (like is friend Richard Branson, hmmm??), always recycling the same old stuff in (your choice): 1 bit, 24 bit, 25th anniversary edition, with Melanie, without Melanie, remastering.....), being now trying to sold his stuff to Cow-Boys and Indians!! I'm tired of these people full of money (like an other friend of him: Bono), always giving moral lessons, and believing they're changing the world ... without taking any risks!!! The priesters of multiculturalism living behind the closes high walls of their castles!!! STOP! STOP! What brings him the more money: music or hypocrisy???

For anyone interested, you can listen to a stream of Steve Hackett's Genesis Revisited 2 here: http://www.progrockmag.com/news/listen-to-exclusive-stream-of-steve-hacketts-genesis-revisited-ii/ I believe the stream is only up for one more day though, so you better be quick. My thoughts for what they are worth... I have listened to Suppers Ready, The Musical Box, Can Utility. I enjoyed it and it's nice to hear some different guitar bits, but I don't imagine I'll want to listen too many more times, when the original recordings are still available. The drums are not brilliantly recorded ( and of course not played by PC) but the biggest issue is the voice. No technically bad singers here but it makes a staggering difference not having PG singing these words; just the drama, humour and imagination behind his voice. Very hard to put your finger on, but it makes the original recordings far more interesting, even if technically dated. I'm sure many will enjoy this album enormously and I bet the live shows will be excellent.

I'm with Hogweed 666 on this one. But having listened to the songs (which I think are no longer available now) I feel reassured once again about what "makes" Genesis: PG's voice. Other guys might try - he's the one.

Any possibility he will do anything in the US other than the cruise ship tour out of Florida?

Brava Prog. Jen! Taaa daaaaa!! Next monday we will go to buy this album ! What will happen to my poor ears, without Peter's voice?? Astonishment? Agitation? Rebellion? Disgust? Irrational prejudices? . . . what else? I do not know, i have f-e-a-r. . . Peter, your mark is indelibly, don't you know?

Certainly what I felt listening to it Dolce. It's a great recording (apart for the Lamia title) but I suddenly realized that Peter had an innate theatrical sense not only in the way he got dressed but until the way he sung, and that special touch will remain eternally absent without his voice, whatever quality would have the singer's voice on that record. a touching vid Steve Hackett Teaches Cuckoo Cocoon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcHf4TRnrCI
