Wow!! To think of all that I'd love to do . . . yeah, it would definitely take at least one year if I did it right, me thinks!
Darcy, the idea of handling those birds, with such a lovely view -- sounds great! And James, you're absolutely correct -- for me, it's just like cuddling with wolves.
I had hoped to get back to Wolf Park two years ago when Dharma (the wolf I currently sponsor) was just a pup -- I wanted to meet her as a pup. Well, it's two years later and Dharma is now a momma of 6 pups (born on the full moon on April 6, 2012). So, there is a part of me that really wants to visit Wolf Park this fall to meet the pups . . . hhmm, perhaps I can "squeeze" it in while I'm seeing my PG shows.
A "year of interesting things" sounds like such a wonderful thing to do and I think anyone can do it -- perhaps not on the same level as PG, but we can all plan our lives to include "interesting things" -- not everything has to be costly, nor does it have to involve long-distance travel to exotic places. The fact that PG can do it on his level is wonderful and I'm especially happy for him and his family to be able to do such a thing.
A few years ago, when I was about to turn 50 years old, I wanted to celebrate my birthday all year long -- I just wanted to enjoy myself -- the entire year. While I was thinking about it and how I would approach it, President Clinton basically did the same thing with his birthday -- and he did something very similar to what PG is proposing to do -- he spent the year traveling, etc., enjoying himself. I was a bit pissed that Clinton stole my idea -- and even more pissed that he could afford to fulfill his dream while I could only "dream" about it.
However, I moved to Lancaster in 2008 -- made settlement on this house on March 31, 2008 -- two days before my 50th year was up! So, I did end up having a full entire year of fun, ending with moving to my new home sweet home

Ever since then, I now celebrate my birthday all month long . . . and I suggest everyone else should do the same -- it's loads of fun to be able to get together with folks throughout the month and not have to worry about only celebrating for one day.
Anyway, I would love to be in a position to work with doctors without borders for some time. When I was a young girl in school and we would have "career day" when various professionals came to speak with us and we would just go to the people we wanted to learn from, I always went to the missionaries -- I wished I could have done some sort of missionary work right out of school, but it didn't happen. At this point in life, I could not afford to be without work long enough to travel and work in a doctors without borders situation, but it really is something I would like to do.
Kind regards to all . . . keep on dreaming
