By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.

Well I dreamed I saw the knights in amour coming saying something about a queen, there was peasants singing and drummers drumming and the archer split the tree, there was a fanfare blowing to the sun....

There was a fanfare blowing to the sun
That was floating on the breeze
Look at mother nature on the run
In the nineteen-seventies
I was lying in a burned out basement
With a full moon in my eyes

I was hoping for a replacement when the sun burst through the sky.
There was a band playing in my head and I felt like getting high.
I was thinking about what a friend had said. I was hoping it was a lie.

Thinking about what a friend had said hoping it was lie. Well I dreamed I saw the silver space ships flying in the yellow haze of the sun...

There were children crying
And colors flying
All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun.
They were flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.
Flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home.

thanks Pat; as I said in the other forum, it was straight from my heart and soul; when you've loved a musician/artist/activist as long as I've loved Mr. G, you think about things a lot; I don't go anywhere without PG CDs in my car. I made my boss, who recently retired a "relaxation" cd with PG's music. Cloudless is track one; omg do I LOVE that song! the Blind Boys of Alabama are amazing and especially that one older dude (if you saw the tour you know who I'm talking about) with the round glasses and chubby cheeks; he and the young man were hitting the high notes and my (former) boss LOVED the CD; she keeps it in the bedroom and if she can't sleep, she plays it. Tickeled me and made me so happy to hear that.
You guys rule; thanks for the nice words.

Have a nice trip Pat; where are you going? You're not sneaking off to a PG concert without us, are you? (j/k).
Peace my friend

My Grandfather came over on a boat from Ireland with my Great-Grandparents when he was about 8 yrs old. His parents spoke gaelic. When my Grandfather married my Grandmother, they all lived together in Maine.
After my dad was born he picked up the gaelic, as kids do, and would translate for my Grandmother, whom I guess would be going nuts because she couldn't understand what was going on.

Hi Connie -- Your idea of the relaxation CD for your boss sounds wonderful!!! (We could probably all use one of those once in a while, yeah?

As for my upcoming trip -- no, sadly not sneaking off to see PG (although I've been known to be able to put such a trip together in a very, very short notice (Deb Grant would be able to attest to the fact that we once managed to put together a very quick trip -- and it remains the most memorable trip I've ever had concerning PG.

)
For Big Time Ideas -- Nice to see you back again. Nice story about your grandparents also. The language is not the easiest to learn (from what I can tell). Every year when I would visit Eire (Kiltimagh, County Mayo), I would ask the children to teach me some words -- I'm hopeless at learning other languages, so they'd teach me some words and I'd immediately forget them

.
Although Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic are very similar, there are some differences. Also, did you know that in Eire, they refer to the language simply as "Irish"? (Just a wee bit of trivia for you in case you ever need it on Jeopardy or some such show.

)
Kind regards to all,

BTI-Do you still have family in Maine? If so, which part of Maine? My Dad is from Maine, and grew up in Hancock County, in Ellsworth and we've got family ties to County Cork. Just curious...

And I have seen the eternal Footman hold my coat, and snicker
T.S. Eliot quotes (American born English Editor, Playwright, Poet and Critic, 1888-1965)
"People fear death even more than pain. It's strange that they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over." Jim Morrison
"To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." Thomas Campbell
"Life is a brief intermission, between birth and death, enjoy it." M.K. Soni
"I think of death as some delightful journey that I shall take when all my tasks are done." Ella Wheeler Wilcox
"A day grows old as we do. Do not wish death upon it. Let it live, let it love, and only then should you let it rest in peace."
Michelle C. Ustaszeski
"We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it?"

it's a very good song, kinda touches a chord in the soul - this is my fave Neil Young song - kind of light and airy but fun (I'd like to get a note from Page lol)
Downtown lyrics
There's a place called Downtown
Where the hippies all go
And they dance the Charleston
And they do the limbo
Yeah the hippies all go there
'Cause they want to be seen
It's like a room
full of pictures
It's like a psychedelic dream
Downtown
Let's go downtown
Downtown at night
Downtown
Let's have a party
Downtown at night
Yeah it's
right around the corner
Up and down the hill
When you hear the band playin'
It's gonna give you a chill
Give your money to the gateman
Young blood in his eye
Hold on to your baby
When you slip into the sky
Downtown
Let's go downtown
Downtown tonight
Downtown
Hear the band playin'
Downtown all right
[solo]
Jimi's playin' in the back room
Led Zeppelin on stage
There's a mirror ball twirlin'
And a note from Page
Like a water-washed diamond
In a river of sin
Goin' down like a whirlpool
When you get sucked in
Downtown
Let's go downtown
Downtown tonight
Downtown
Hear the band playin'
Downtown all right
[solo]
Downtown
Let's go downtown
Downtown tonight
Downtown
Let's have a party
Downtown all right
[solo]
