Hey everyone!
I'm curious if anyone out here also plays Rock Band on any of the various video game consoles. I was thinking the other day that it would be awesome to be able to play some PG songs. If you had to pick just a handful, what would they be?

Do any of the Rock Band or Hero games have any Genesis? I am pretty sure there's no PG.

Aaron, no Genesis from any era in either game. And certainly no PG.
All of those would be excellent songs to play. I think I would pick Shock the Monkey, Big Time, and Sledgehammer.

Did a search for Rock Band and Genesis, Rock Band and Peter Gabriel and found:

Genesis In Rock Band?
Okay, apparently some people would rather have Genesis over just Phil Collins DLC. I personally love both and would be very pleased either way.
Hell, it'd be great if we could get some Peter Gabriel in the game too.
If you want Genesis DLC for Rock Band which songs would you like
to have?
(at the link people have listed the Genesis songs they like in Rock Band - not all are Phil Collins Genesis)

Guitar Hero, Rock Band . isn't it all a bit Peter Gabriel?
Keith Stuart - the Guardian
But let's look at the groups using Guitar Hero and Rock Band as a distribution platform for new material. So far, Mötley Crüe have been joined by Aerosmith and Metallica, both of which are set to have special editions of Guitar Hero based around them. We're hardly at the chalkface of contemporary music here.
It reminds me of that period in the late 90s when artists such as Peter Gabriel and David Bowie started making awful websites and interactive CD-Roms.
Call me back when Crystal Castles, MGMT or No Age start launching songs in this way and maybe we can talk. And no, the fact that Coldplay has just released three tracks for Guitar Hero III doesn't count.

That's a strange article. I mean clearly it's a bit old, and plenty of noteworthy current bands are on those games now. But that's a weird swipe at CD-ROMs like Eve and X-Plora. Those were pretty innovative for their time.

Hm. Sledgehammer and Solsbury Hill would be my picks for Gabriel songs going solely on a guitaring perspective. On a singing perspective, I Don't Remember, I Have the Touch, Solsbury Hill, Big Time, and Shock the Monkey would by my picks.
If I could pick a few Genesis songs(besides the entire album of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway), I'd go with The Musical Box, Dancing with the Moonlit Knight, After the Ordeal, and Return of the Giant Hogweed if I was in a guitar mood. In a singing mood, I'd want I Know What I Like, Seven Stones, Dancing with the Moonlit Knight, The Musical Box, and Get 'Em Out by Friday.
If I could get a bonus song for both categories(singing and guitaring), I'd pick Fountain of Salmacis.
I'd be stoked if the Rock Band marketplace got some Gabriel and/or old Genesis in a year or two. But it's up to the artists to agree to have their songs on there, and I'm not sure as of what their opinions are on Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

Yeah, I'd be interested for sure and am also not exactly sure what their opinions on these types of games are. With other things that PG has been involved in, it would seem like something up his alley. Exposing people to music and getting them interested in playing, ect. It also seems like Realworld isn't too guarded about how and what they license PG's music for. Hmm.
Yep, let's go Realworld. Make this happen!

I can attest to the "getting them interested in playing" thing when it comes to Rock Band; that was a stepping stone for me to get into playing real guitar. Granted, I don't know any notes but I still strum along with songs, some quite blistering(literally!).
Maybe we lunatics could help capture Mr. Gabriel's attention towards the idea. XD

I changed my mind. I want a bunch of songs. Maybe highlights from Plays Live or Secret World? Or the entirety of Hit?

Here's what the keyboard looks like for Rock Band 3 - to do PG songs you need a keyboard

Well, yes, a lot of songs need the keyboard. Hence why they FINALLY have Billy Joel songs available. XD
