here's the steps:
a} you have to give a valid reason why
b} you'll need to sell all valuble assets
c} 149 hrs of community service must be served first
d} must say bye bye to each one of us individually.
e} leave behind fond memories
f} leave through the back door
sorta hard rules, so why don't ya just stay?

I think it's impossible.
I wrote to the webteam two times to remobve my account. They simply ignored me. Thanks you lazy asses (webteam)!

If you post abusive things they'll ban you from the site but I think your old stuff would still exist.

I never gave it much thought, about whether or not to want my name and identity and postings removed from here.
I think one of the reasons they (the webteam) probably don't totally remove your account is so that you don't just decide to sign on as someone else (although I'm sure it's possible to do).
I think the best thing might be to just not sign in or comment for awhile and your posts will be overlooked in a matter of time - with new threads replacing older ones. Of course, you can be gone but "not forgotten" and if/when you choose to participate on the forums again, you can do just that - just post on a thread or create a new one and wah-lah! you're back :-]
I do think that if there is something in particular that you wish to have removed from here (a post by you or someone else), you can request the webteam to do so - they might be able to do that for you.
In the meantime, you might as well just hang out in "lurking lunatics land" - there's plenty of 'em out there, trust me. :-]
P.S. I also think that Moonstorm might have the real answer to this question :-] . . . an awful lot of steps to leave, so you might as well just stay :-]
Kind regards to all,
Zenrider

Stay. Go. It's all about choices. As for having all of anyone's posts deleted just cause, that I don't agree with. If you have regrets about something you've posted, post your regrets, but don't deny you've posted it. About the only time I've ever wanted to delete a post is when I double post. Otherwise as Pat says, in time it will disappear and your better posts will weigh heavier then one or so posts made in haste that weren't quite what you intended. Oddly, I've never regretted deleting a post without ever posting it.

As for me, any forum I've ever left, I just left. No dramatic announcements of my leaving. Don't think I ever cancelled an account, as I wasn't ever sure I would never go back. Most of those aren't websites anymore and one I do go back to occasionally, but not often.
