" The tree of life " Terence Malik
Absolute masterpiece to my own opinion, but this film suits to those writting
- between the sky and I there is only light
or
- World s beauty is in the eye of the one looking.
:-]
- if you need to have rational explanations all along a film, don't go
- if you need action evry 3 mn, don't go
Great deal of laugher after the film, as the one it has made me think of is "2001 a space odyssey"; precise words that I red as soon as going out the cinema.
I must admit that the connection is temting, and that since 2001, no film has taken me higher and farer !

It seems that Robert (De Niro :-] ) agreed with me.
The golden palm has been given tonight to The tree of life. and the film really deserve it.

Saw "Little Miss Sunshine" for the first time today, really good acting and one of the few "heart-warming" movies I can stand.
Before that some time ago the incredible "Enter The Void", the awesome "Black Dynamite", the underrated "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" and "City Of God".

The last Harry Potter movie. Not bad. I'm curious what happens in the end.

Water For Elephants was very good. I had read the book awhile ago, and thought the book was okay, but I enjoyed the movie more than the book.

Changing Lanes- one of my favourite actors is Samuel L. Jackson. He plays an absolutely superb part in this film.
I find it very psychological and keeps you watching with all it's twists and turns. Enjoyed that!

Secret Window-
Watched that on Sunday evening, hadn't seen it for awhile. Thoroughly enjoyed it again. Very psychological.
Thought Johnny Depp was superb!!

Meremaid -
I enjoyed that one, as usually I can spot "the twist" a mile away, but that one caught me.
Same thing happened with "Fight Club" and "The Others". Did not see that one coming, although in "The Others" I did suspect it a bit - due to "The 6th Sense."
Watched "The Jacket" with Adrian Brody. Kind of strange, but it was interesting.

Padowan-
Yes, that's exactly why i like Secret Window. the ending was very unexpected!.
Not seen "The Jacket", but, i am an Adrian Brody fan. I will look out for that one.
I enjoyed the film "The Pianist". I believe Mr Brody was in that?. Another great film, yet very moving in parts.
True story i believe?. Was so relieved that he survived and was "saved" in the end. And what a fantastic pianist!.

Yesterday I had a look at 'Tree of life'.
The smell of the 60years education was very present to me. Not to be alloud to touch authority of the parents until adolescense, but also having an own childrens world, which was not touched by the parents.
The more nature-film-like scenes of genesis and death came sudden , but it was possible to feel in.
My children (nearly adult)were a bit nerved by these extra-scenes with little dinosaurs and so on.
For me 8.

Apocalypse Now
Lawrence of Arabia
Bell, Book and Candle
the Court Jester
The Ghost Breakers Bob Hope movie
best line:
Geoff Montgomery: It's worse than horrible because a zombie has no will of his own. You see them sometimes walking around blindly with dead eyes, following orders, not knowing what they do, not caring.
Larry Lawrence: You mean like Democrats?
