Paranormal Activity. " Dont watch this film on your own". This was one of the quotes on the box, so you would have thought it would be a really scary film. It should have read " Dont watch this film unless you want to be dissappointed!" It must have been very cheap to make as there were only four actors in it and a sound effects guy. All the action bieng confined to the inside of a house, with a small cameo by the porch and back yard! It was filmed by the actors in an almost Blair Witch style shakey camera "what was that noise?!" genre. I like Horror films, and thought this would be the start of a new generation of scare the begeesus out of you films, but alas the film is quite boring and very predictable. Only 2 out of 10 for this one, and this is only for the fact that the hype they gave the film made me want to watch it, and that they must have made alot of money from the film as there were four cast and a sound effects guy involved. Wonder what the second film is like? Another waste of time maybe?

Saw "Sucker Punch" last Friday - I am into graphics, and I really wanted to see it. Best way I can describe it, is as "an Anime, Adrenaline, Acid-trip, while reading a Playboy".

Insidious is supposed to be very scary - opens on April 1st - my radio station had the guys who made it - they are behind those "torture porn" movies Saw Insidious trailer http://www.youtube.com/user/AllianceFilms?v=lO_hl0MJLpg&feature=pyv&ad=9873546094&kw=insidious The line from the movie, "It's not your house that is haunted - it's your son" Couples days ago I saw Skyline - not bad for a low budget movie - the guys who made it filmed almost all of it at the Los Angeles apartment building 'Skyline' Trailer 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0DjXh_EB7w don't go to the light!!!

Latest "best" film I have seen recently, was Les Miserables", with Liam Neeson. Different, and a little cliche, but I liked it.

Last movie I saw in a movie theatre was "Sherlock Holmes," and last movie I saw at home was a bootleg version of "Inception." (Hope the feds aren't reading this thread.) They were both pretty good.

The Haunting (1963) - History of Hill House http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAo6WwpV3jk&feature=related scary, mostly by what you don't see - the remake with Liam Neeson was terrible - overdone special effects - totally opposite to the original the movie is set on the east coast of the US but was actually made in England The Univited - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ghl3mENaVOc The first serious and best ghost story Hollywood made, starring Ray Milland and Ruth Hussey Last year I got the book it was based on through ebay, but it took forever for them to figure out the twist at the end - not bad for a 1942 book the song from the movie Stella by Starlight is quite well known they even used it in that mafia movie Casino Anita O'Day, Stella By Starlight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UZ0xqdP2rw

very good movie - heartbreaking Shake Hands With the Devil - Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaHAXnOGj9k Shake Hands with the Devil (2007) Storyline In the end of 1993, the Canadian General Romeo Dallaire is assigned to lead the United Nation troops in Rwanda. In 1994, when the genocide of the Tutsis by the Hutus begins, General Dallaire gives his best effort to help the people in Rwanda, inclusive negotiating with the Tutsi rebels, the Hutu army and the Interhamwe militia. However, he fights against bureaucracy and lack of interest from the United Nations and witnesses the West World ignoring and turning back any sort of support, inclusive USA opposing in the security council of UN to any type of help. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil User Reviews compelling and heartbreaking 16 November 2009 | by disdressed12 (Canada) – See all my reviews I thought this was was a well done film based on the autobiography of Canadian General Romeo Dallaire, who was tasked with the job of leading UN peacekeeping efforts in Rwanda,in what should have been a routine mission, until civil war breaks out.while the rest of the world turns its back,Dallaire does what he can to save as many innocents as he can while war wages on. the movie show how the ludicrousness of bureaucracy,as well as how cruel and unkind(not to mention hypocritical)our western world can be.this is not a movie i would say is enjoyable, given its subject matter.it is quite graphic and bleak.but is well made and the acting is is superb.for me Shake Hands With The Devil is an 8/10

Speaking of light flicks - I was needing a balm from the Japanese catastrophe just across the ocean from me - 'Paul' & 'Cedar Rapids.' Both are an example of a uniquely American brand of cinema: Gross/Raunchy films with Heart. In the same league with 'Something about Mary,' 'Dinner for Schmucks' & 'Don't Mess with the Zohan.'

BASEketball - A film by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Brilliant satiric movie, recommended to any South Park fan.

Enjoying the emperor's not so new clothes. Delighting that Obama's messianic sheen and "film" is now being seen for what it is. The "Bush" doctrine prevails. Long live P N A C!!! Keep working on the back nine Barry! Chump
