That was a really good review, the likes of which typically aren't seen in Newspapers (typically when I read reviews to shows I attended I have to ask myself if the guy was at the same show).

Thanks for posting this review Lone Palm. I got to read it on my flight out of New York City and got very emotional. That's one for the scrapbook.

Sat in the front row and was completely blown away. I have been to a lot of pg concerts and this one ranks up there with the best. Radio City Music Hall in a great venue, first time there.

I am not completely agree, but it's nice, thank you! About S.M.B. "It's a cover album bloated by outsize pretensions, from another is a song cycle lighted by insight and solitude" . . . i am on the opposite,i disagree, for me: First: there is an Orchestra,it's not a band with guitar, bass and drums,so it's clear that result it's a sctructural movement of the songs more "full" and "majestic". But i absolutely find this arrangements NOT pretentious but the opposite: they are simple, innovative, fresh, new, they give way to the beautiful voice (and interpretation of the personality) of Gabriel to express his own way of feeling with this songs. So,the result is not to listen to songs "mummies",but "new" songs. Second:i don't understand "solitude". . . . i think S.M.B. is "a point of view" of one of the great and best Artist that we have in this Planet, here in 2010,but there are many moments of Hope, for example whith songs that talks of Love. Third: i think these songs in a classic review is not easy for anyone, the difference is. . . . Peter Gabriel. He is always able to give that "sense and soul" and innovation in all that he does, would also sing with ten glasses and a fork to make rhythm. . . . In my opinion,of course, that means that it's an opinion like millions of views in the world. . .
