I came here today, expecting to see a posting recognizing John Lennon's birthday, but didn't see one, so decided to create one myself. I'm remembering John Lennon today, October 9th, on his birthday. John Lennon was a creative genius, with a good mind and heart and soul and his music, ideas and actions helped to change the world in so many ways. He still remains with me as my first idol in music and he is still my "favorite" Beatle (if I must choose), with Paul running a close second (that stemming from my little girl crush on him). I hope that John Lennon will always rest in peace - the peace that he hoped for us one day here on this planet. Kind regards to all and PEACE, Pat Parker :-] :-]

we are thinking of you, John!

If I were John Lennon, I wouldn't be resting in peace, in fact I'd be as mad as hell. Not much has changed since he left us. But at least we've got the means, for making some real progress, If we could just decide, which direction we want to go. It's tough without real leaders, with voices loud enough, who care enough, about us, and what really matters, to point us in the right direction. The world is a smaller place, mired again, in it's own confusion, more unsure than ever, without voices like that in our ears, putting into words, what we know in our hearts, to be important enough, to shout at the top of our voices, that 'this cause is just', even though we didn't think of it. There just aren't any more bandwagons, worth climbing on, like there were in those days, there are causes still to be rallied to, just no-one brave enough, to champion them, no-one loud enough to be heard, or famous enough to be followed. Maybe there are, but they remain silent, their shouts cannot be heard, over the voices of their nay-sayers. This world is diminished, without John Lennon, shouting into the void, while people laughed at him, Lighting candles in the dark, That now burn, as bright as daylight, only to be reminded, of the meager candle-light vigil, and our efforts to hold, onto his memory, as his soul was brutally torn from us, on a cold day in December, all those years ago. We remember John, how could we ever forget. Happy birthday John, I hope Heaven is everything, you dreamed it to be. Thanks for the memories, and for the thrills, and for Julian, and Sean. But most of all, thanks for believing in us.
