One of the best things about Gabriel, I feel, is his habit of reworking a song over time and issuing different versions of them. This is very obvious with a number of tracks, but I'm just learning now about some of his earlier tracks. I was hoping someone could shed some light on some versions for me:
The version of Slowburn on the Modern Love single is different (longer) than the album version. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
The same thing with the version of Perspective on the original DIY single - it's longer than the one on the album.
Finally, we have the second DIY single, containing an extended version of DIY that I believe is 4 minutes long.
I would love to hear these songs! Does anyone have any info they can share with me?

Agreed, Cinemartin - there is an ocean of stuff out there, which is often frustratingly difficult to obtain, even in this age-of-the-download. I don't understand why a decent retrospective has never been put together, one that captures all these obscure, alternative versions. I'm sure all this has been said before. . . and Hit was such a pointless, wasted opportunity. . . how does this forum keep going in such a void? Can you imagine what the posting here would be like if he actually released anything?
