I am thinking of buying this DVD. Anyone got it, what do you think?

I haven`t got the DVD and I missed to buy the album - (there is also a Real World-CD from this event).
An interesting tracklist by various artists - mostly from Africa.
I believe it`s like a DVD from a WOMAD-concert showing all the highlights.

Thanks Cimber. there is quite a lot on Youtube but that doesn't necessarily give you much of an idea of the DVD itself.

This was the concert that was held at The Eden Project on the same day as Live 8 was held at all those other places. Seems that Sir Bob Geldof didn't want to include little known African artists because they would not draw enough of a crowd. So almost at the last minute Africa Calling was arranged and I think it must have been spectacular. A few of the Lunatics who visit here were lucky enough to go. After all, it was basically for Africa wasn't it??? Deb Grant

Yes thanks Deb, I heard that was the reason. I love the music played there plus the fact PG was there in the middle of it all! I'll definitely get the cd I think.

You are very welcome, Duddy.
If you like African music in the least little bit, you will like this CD and the DVD too.

Hilde and I are happy with the show. It includes good performances from Miriam Mursal, Thomas Mapfumo, and Youssou N'Dour. In theory we could send you a copy, but it probably won't play in Amerika (different format).
On a side note: if you like African music, and I know you do, you will probably like the Drakensberg boy choir (from South Africa). I am still trying to find a CD by them.

Thanks Wei Hu Shan, I will have to see if I can persuade hubby to buy it for me!
