I think they got confused about best singer vs some people that had a good song or two, more in some cases. After all Willie Nelson would be the first to admit he doesn't have the best singing voice, but that doesn't stop him from having some very listenable songs. These lists mean nothing in the greater scheme of things and are not only subjective, but can be bought. Don't sweat it. And yeah, where's Barry?
