There's no doubt that Peter will eventually make it.
(OK, and Phil)
But, as for the rest of the band as a whole, the world doesn't always appreciate real art, until the source is severed, and the possibility of 'more of the same' is snatched out from under it's feet.
Take Stevie Ray Vaughn for example, or Sublime.
Everyone always thinks that, as long as the original members are alive, it could eventually happen again, they could change their minds, get back together, whatever you want to call it.
Like the Beatles or Pink Floyd.
The hope survives until, one day, even that's shattered.
Fortunately, death's dark angel hasn't visited G-land yet. But, I seriously doubt that anybody's gonna see a full fledged Genesis re-union as long as Peter's got two pence to rub together, especially as embarrassing as it would be as five sixty-something old men.
Can you imagine Peter leaping aroung with that flower hat on now?
At least he wont have to wear the old man mask anymore.
But that was the art, and these are the artists.
It would be nice if somebody got recognized for the advancement of their particular vein, for lack of a better term, of their craft, but 'PROG ROCK' has always had it's detractors, often as many as it's flag wavers,
so it often, though it's appreciated by most, just runs, like a stream, just on the other side of the rise, where those who know where to look, those who can appreciate such things, can find it.
Usually labelled 'Savory, but for special tastes'.
