Hi everbody and happy new year.
My question is for Peter Gabriel or for
anyone that's heard of such a thing.
When I was in the 2nd grade a few of us students
got to write on the wall meaning we wrote on
a poster on the wall
The teacher would ask question like
"what would you need to have something else"
and we answer "You need the sky to fly an aeroplane"
and she would wrote it on the poster
one of the posters was similar to Sledge Hammer,
and another was similar to Big Time this
was in 1984-1985 before SO came out
This gets me to the title of the tread
I remember a musician coming to
the school and giving out jelly beans
to the students who wrote on the poster
I can't remember who it was
My question is has peter gabriel ever gotten
ideas for his songs from childrens' writings?

Don't know anything about it but would be pretty awesome considering the huge success of Sledgehammer!

It would be increadably cool! But I have to say that I doubt it.
Because Sledgehammer is about sex. Think about it. Need I say more?
And Big Time is about success and what it does to people, and done in a verry light manner. I especially like the lyrics:
"When I show them round the house to my bed, I'll have it made like a mountain range with a snow white pillow for MY BIG FAT HEAD!"
Gotta love that one!
But might I suggest that perhaps you were all tuned into the collective conciousness and these images were prominent at the time? A little group ESP?
