I don't think AreBor is Cyn - just someone who wasn't here before when all the craziness was rampant.
Hey Cyn
If the "nastiness" stops can the condescending attitude stop as well?
It's a real turn off and does not help your case at all.

Please keep adding the creative, lovely writings that I always enjoy reading here. This has been a wonderful thread, ever since its creation (by Paul Cronin) and I find it to be such a nice place to "relax" and read -- especially when the writings are from our very own familunies

I'd write a little diddy here if I could think of one, but unfortunately, my day is over and I'm ready for sleep . . . g'nite lunies

I like your writing Pat, please keep it up - and never worry about a story being too long, most time I think they are not long enough
Did you like the pic of Mae West? (wax figure that is)

I'd rather be condescending than downright nasty and rude as some people are

Yes actually I do read them and I read yours as well.
You sure like to call everyone children - can you ever acknowledge anything that you do?
And don't forget the persecution complex and paranoia, yet another turn off.
Actually who am I kidding, of course you can't.
Never mind, I'm back to ignore.

You are very judgmental Jen, and it never occurs to you, that you might be wrong it your flat out judgment of another person - yet you never seem to be aware of your own self and who and what you are.

First Stone by Sean Mcconnell
Could you spare me please
If only just one day
Let me off my knees
'Cos underneath these clothes
I have a heart that beats
I'm not just flesh and bone
But go on, take me lower if you're able
Kick me while I'm already down
While you sweep your dirt underneath the table
You know I'm not the only sinner in this town
So go on, throw the first stone
Come on, get the last word
'Cos it won't be the first time
I've been on my own
'Cos if you think you're perfect
If you've never been blessed
If you've never felt alone
Go on, throw the first stone
Tell me what it takes
For me to make you see
That you made your own mistakes
Is this your way to work through
The fact that you're a lot like me
And I'm a lot like you
Go on, take me lower if you're able
Kick me while I'm already down
While you sweep your dirt underneath the table
You know I'm not the only sinner in this town
So go on, throw the first stone
Come on, get the last word
'Cos it won't be the first time
I've been on my own
'Cos if you think you're perfect
If you've never been blessed
If you've never felt alone
Then go on, throw the first stone
And I guess you won't be happy till I bleed
And I guess somehow that gives you what you need
Is there no one else that you can patronise
Maybe someone your own size
So go on, throw the first stone
Come on, get the last word
'Cos it won't be the first time
I've been on my own
And if you think you're perfect
If you've never been blessed
If you've never felt so alone
Then go on, throw the first stone

It's only words, but words have power.
Dear Visitor,
Your prayer is now in Jerusalem.
Provided it is not found to contain objectionable material, it will shortly be placed
in the Wall.
May the Almighty answer your request.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Kalman Packouz

Just in case any of you (and you know who you are) think that my prayer placed in the Western Wall in Jerusalem had anything to do with you, it did not. I just used it as an example of how power "words" can be - and words can be very powerful, especially when they fall from the sky and hit the ground running.
So, try not to dwell on the negative and concentrate on the positive, I know dear ones, it's like talking to a brick wall - one day a little ray of light will shine through, and you small core of negative nellies will see the light - one day, but not soon I fear, not nearly soon enough

"negative nellie"... love that one.
Cyn - did you or did you not post that Darcy "claims" to have been in the military? Yes or No?
Did you post that Darcy will probably claim your military stories as hers? Yes or No?
Have you since deleted those posts from the Wolf's Den? Yes or No?
It's really just a matter of telling the truth.

it's an open thread - maybe start a new one - where we stick to songs, poems and stories and nothing else
May I speak.

Wow! I've been "moonless" for a few days, but finally have been debugged by Rich, the wonderful webmaster. (Thanks, Rich!)
I sorta read the past few posts and all I'd like to say (not that it matters much to anyone here) is this:
Paul Cronin created this thread a very long time ago (hence, the 140+ pages). It has always been a very nice thread, with so much creativity here -- our very own familunies are one wonderfully talented bunch of people!
Whenever I was in the "neighborhood" I'd usually stop in to read. I don't contribute to the thread because unforunately any poems that I write are usually very dark and depressing (because that's the only time I'm inspired to write poetry -- and fortunately, for me, those very dark days have long been gone for me -- teens and twenties saw me writing some really nice sad poems

). However, I really enjoy reading here.
Unfortunately whenever a thread goes off its track, it is difficult to get it back to where it once belonged. But, it can return to the thread it once was -- all it takes is a bit of effort on one's part to refrain from having conversations, dialogues, etc. within the thread itself (very much like I'm doing right here!

-- but this is my point).
So, when I read Paul's request to stop this thread, I totally understood his meaning -- he must be really sad to watch something he helped create and continue go sprialing right down the toilet. Paul didn't want this thread to stop any more than any one of us -- not the thread that it's supposed to be, anyway. He wants the sideline comments to stop and in all fairness, many of us have tried to pick up and carry on. But it just ain't happenin' now, is it?
I know I shouldn't have even added my own words here, but I cannot help to feel really sad to lose such an awesome thread. I hope we can continue this thread . . . with creative writing only (my current post excluded, please!).

I will pledge to keep the sideline comments to zero, no matter what anyone else says to me. I will not reply even when my creative efforts are misinterpreted.
Give peace a change - here are some creative words, not my own:
Path Of Peace
By Paul Mc Cann
Peace is an easy path to tread
Peace is where our fears are mislaid
Peace is beginning to restore
Peace for each man, woman and child
Peace for the troubled streets gone wild
Peace is for the old and the young
Peace in the end will overcome
Peace builds trust into a lifestyle
Peace is a friendly open hand
Peace is a place to understand
Peace in the end will overcome
Peace is for the old and the young
Peace is a legacy to leave
Peace is when we don't have to grieve
Peace is and end to all the hate
Peace is why we negotiate
Peace for all the victims of war

Stagnation
Here today the red sky tells its tale
But the only listening eyes are mine
There is peace amongst the hills
And the night will cover all my pride
Blessed are they who smile from bodies free
Seems to me like any other crowd
Who are waiting to be saved
Wait, there still is time for washing in the pool
Wash away the past
Moon, my long lost friend is smiling from above
Smiling at my tears
Come, we'll walk the path that takes us to my home
Keep outside the night
The ice-cold knive has come to decorate the dead
Somehow
And each will find a home
And there will still be time for love in my friend
- you are there -
And will I wait forever behind the silent mirror
And fish for bitter minnows
Amongst the weeds and slimy waters
I, I, I, I, I,
I, I, I, I, I, said I wanna sit down
I, I, I, I, I,
I, I, I, I, I, said I wanna sit down
I want a drink, I want a drink
To take all the dust and the dirt from my throat
I want a drink, I want a drink
To wash out the filth that is deep in my guts
I want a drink
Then let us drink
Then let us smile
Then let us go
Genesis
