Forums » Album » That Voice Again 24/48 FLAC Drop Out

SpencerDC 24 October 2012 at 2:33am Posts: 3 (0 today) Status: offline
Hi All, As I and many of you noticed there is about a five second drop out at 1:11 in the 24 bit 48 kHz FLAC version of "That Voice Again" in the new "So" remaster. Could someone from the PG camp send us a link to the corrected file? The email I used to download my copy is the same as the email I used for my account here. Everything else is amazing! The 24/48 versions blows my mind! I can't wait to listen to them on my mastering engineers setup at our studio! Thanks Spencer

Also The 24/48 masters are superior to the CD masters because they seem to be from the vinyl mastering. They are not as loud and have greater detial because of the higher bit rate and higher sample rate. This improves the dynamic range and extends the frequency range as well! Which is why it sucks that "That Voice Again" has the drop out. My only complaint in an otherwise perfect box set! Please fix it soon!

Got my email as well. Anybody noticing distortion during the chorus of Red Rain?

I was promised a new download link but have yet to receive it. It's ludicrous.

My version of "That Voice Again" also has the drop out at 1:11. Can anyone send me a link to the correct version? My download code doesn't work anymore since I already downloaded the album monday.

I simply cannot understand the relative silence on the part of RWR, PG and B&W over this. I had one tweet in response to my complaint promising a link in my email today, and have received nothing at all.

OK, finally, I have received my new download link at TVA is mended. Seems to have been confusion on the part of B&W as to whether they had sent me a link or not. Though it begs the question, why not simply replace the track in the original download file? (I tried re-downloading and as of last night, the original download still had the corrupted file.)

Hi how did you obtain the new url download link?
greggster59 27 October 2012 at 8:00pm Posts: 35 (0 today) Status: offline
The link that I got when using the download code today said (V.2). No drop outs or any other problems with this file. I think the link has not changed. They just updated the files.

That's nice but when I try to download the files again it says "The voucher code entered has already been redeemed."

Hey SimonsTardis, initially I tweeted them, then dug around on the B&W website until I found their support contact page. Sent a slightly rude message I'm afraid, as my patience had worn thin.

Hello, please did you noticed, on Mercy Street in a new mix, there is this weird noise just in the beginning of a song. When lower bass approaches, there is some kind of a "susurration" or something like that. Did you noticed anyone?
sweetfeed 7 November 2012 at 10:21pm Posts: 53 (0 today) Status: offline
I did notice the noise at the very start of Don't Give Up (alternative version - I think that's what you mean rather than Mercy Street). Maybe it's a glitch on the original recording of that version of the song...or is it a glitch with the file? I haven't listened to the 12" vinyl version so can't compare. It is weird that the 24-bit version of the album is quieter than the CD - the vinyl master idea seems to be the most likely explanation, especially because the three 12" only songs are tacked on the end.
