I posted that on our facebook page today:
Just for your information: Peter Gabriel's So25 is out in Germany today and some other countries. Besides the fact that there were no DVDs in our review copy (!), you cannot download anything (So 24bit, extra tracks, Athens 720p). Now, that's a really "professionally managed" package ... :/
Let's hope that'll be fixed soon.
-----
Details:
I got the review copy yesterday, opened it and while enjoying So DNA (which is really awesome) I noticed that the slots for the DVDs were not only empty, it seems that the DVD have simply never been put into the set. Although I will get the DVDs soon (by wednesday, as they say), this has really taken away all the joy, since the DVD and So DNA are pretty much the only thing of greater interest for me, apart from:
Extra Tracks
The downloads are apparently not functioning. The download-page cannot be found. Even worse, the 720p videos from Athens produce a "txt"-file download, after a while you get notice that no further downloads are possible!
I really wonder whether or not Peter Gabriel's team is aware of the fact that things come out in Germany and some other countries on the friday BEFORE the release in the Uk and that we have a huge market here!
I may have a So DNA review done by tomorrow but I am really unmotivated to put any more energy into the whole thing (we did quite a huge website feature, compared the remaster versions etc - some of this is not yet available in english, but we're working on that).
Sorry if that sounds a "rude", but in the end I am really disappointed how this whole thing was managed and that we were given NO TIME to have a closer look before the release in terms of reviews etc.
(a little sidenote, the CLassic Albums DVD / Blu-ray has been promised as a review copy in mid september. It was also released today, we haven't received it yet...)
cheers

Had to create an account @ www.bowers-wilkins.com (btw - us-states do not make sense for non us-citzens, but field is mandatory ...) ... but result is "Page Not Found"
Hope someone will fix this soon ...

I downloaded the zip file OK but now that I'm listening I notice a big drop out in That Voice Again, where the track just goes quiet. Anyone else noticed this?

I can confirm the dropout, starting at about 1:11 and running to 1:16 In "That Voice Again".
The rest of the album sounds great, though.

Yes I imported that voice again into my daw and it clear there is no sound between 1.11 and 1.16 on my file too so I do not think its corrupted just wrong and need correcting.

Speaking of bugs, the box set page on amazon.com now has this message:
"Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."
Ouch! Amazon is probably the place where this box would sell the most copies, and yet they are refusing to sell it during the week of release.
I'm not sure what the "problem" is, but anecdotal evidence in other forums suggests that people are getting the box and the discs are scratched and have glue/residue on them from the packaging.

I noticed that when printing out the So cover PDF that it is slightly larger than what will fit inside a CD jewel case. Trying to reduce the size in Photoshop degrades the quality too much though. Do you think we can persuade PG to re-do the PDF so it will fit a CD jewel case?

You can usually in printing out a PDF adjust the "scaling" in your print dialog box. Perhaps if you scale it down a few percentage points you will find a good fit.

I received my box from Amazon.com today and downloaded the 24 bit tracks from B&W. The folder is tagged "V. 2" and there are no audio dropouts at all. They must have fixed the earlier issue some people experienced.
