Hey, I'd like to get as many 2011 reissues of PG's albums and hence my question: how many of them got re-released then and have such picture on the spine (

Thanks!

i am probably not the best to offer assistance on the various reissues/editions, but let's give it a try. do you own the one in the photo? if so, is there a number on the spine? where did you find the 2011 date? how did you obtain the cd?
at first glance, it looks to be part of a larger box set. again, i am not the most knowledgeable of every reissue out there. so, hopefully a collector into such a thing may be able to provide further assistance.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I own that one. The number on the spine: 5099973070221. The date is on the back and I bought it in a regular Polish music store. Managed to obtain 1, 2, 3, 4, Birdy, So, Us and Passion in this series. Can't seem to find the rest. Don't know if they exist.

that's a real world 2011 european reissue. hopefully, an european collector will reply. it seems like "plays live" should be part of that reissue, and possibly OvO.

Yeah, the thing is that people seem to have no clue which version is which. At first I was told that only 1-4, So and Us had been reissued but then tracked down the others. It seems that also 'Shaking the Tree' comes in this edition. Just wanted to ask if maybe the rest are available in other countries. Thank you for answers, really appreciate it.

here's a post that may offer some clarification:

Peter Gabriel Catalog Reissued in Europe This Month
In Europe today, Peter Gabriel's back catalog from his 1977 solo debut through his 1992 Us album was been reissued (excluding the compilation 16 Golden Greats). Much like the 2010 U.S. remasters, these albums do not contain bonus tracks. The information on these titles is as follows:
1. Peter Gabriel - Us (catalog # PGCDR7R)
2. Peter Gabriel - Passion (catalog # RWCDR1R)
3. Peter Gabriel - So (catalog # PGCDR5R)
4. Peter Gabriel - Birdy (catalog # PGCDRBIRR)
5. Peter Gabriel - Plays Live (1 CD highlights version) (catalog # RWPL642)
6. Peter Gabriel - IV (a.k.a. Security) (catalog #PGCDR4R)
7. Peter Gabriel - III (a.k.a. Melt) (catalog # PGCDR3R)
8. Peter Gabriel - II (a.k.a. Scratch) (catalog #PGCDR2R)
9. Peter Gabriel - I (a.k.a. Car) (catalog # PGCDR1R)
Interesting to note, in North America, they did reissue 16 Golden Greats last year.

. . ."16 Golden Greats" is Peter`s 2nd best selling album in the USA - that may explain the re-issue.
there was (is) also a re-issue / remaster of "16 Golden Greats / Shaking the Tree" in Europe - the copies in the record shops often included (or still include) a sticker:
< including "Solsbury Hill" as featured in the film "Vanilla Sky" >

The 2011 US reissues (including Shaking the Tree) came in digipaks and had the Realworld Records colour bar added to the spine. They look really good all lined up together.
