Sorry to say this, but it's "Big Time" for PG :
Big time big time
My car is getting bigger
Big time
My house is getting bigger
Big time
My eyes are getting bigger
Big time
And my mouth
Big time
My belly is getting bigger
Big time
And my bank account
Big time
Look at my circumstance
Big time
And the bulge in my big big big big big big big

Does anybody know if the DVD's in the Real world version (presumably geared toward the UK) will play alright in the US?
There's no mention on Amazon (US) of the digital download including digital versions of the two newly released tracks (one of the bigger reasons to buy this). You would think it would be a no brainer they'd include that everywhere-
BUT after buying three different versions of New Blood trying to get everything (that was handled so badly and I'm still mad) I STILL DON'T HAVE the New Blood version of Father, Son that was apparently being given away free by Real World.
I'd just buy the Real World version of this to make sure I get the digital versions of the unreleased tracks (and I might), but I'm very concerned the DVD's won't play here.
Until the New Blood debacle I would have assumed everything would be ok. Now I'm very uneasy, and wonder how much Peter even pays attention to what these people are releasing...

p.s. I'm kind of regretting that post above now. I wish I hadn't complained so much. (although I am unhappy about how the different versions of New Blood were and the corresponding live album were handled)

I'm a little confused....is there a difference between the Amazon version and the WOMAD shop version of the So box set? There is a $50 (U.S.) difference (costs more through WOMAD shop) and the title is different on Amazon (So 20th Anniversary Immersion Box Set). My BF's getting a little annoyed thinking he paid too much through PG's site for the same item...

amazon is selling the exact same box set, which comes with the 24 bit download. the dvds are region 0 (all regions). the price on amazon has dropped $50 since initial listing. additionally, amazon offers a pre-order guarantee (i.e., if the amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price). finally, this order qualifies for free shipping. just make sure you select the correct option (5-8 business days).
disclaimer: other than being a longtime customer, i have no affiliation with amazon.com.

It is great that the SO anniversary box set is being released for those who want all the different things that it offers. I was interested to read that the CD will offer superior sound as well. I am sure that may be the case. However, I really don't want this box set myself, but what I would have been interested in would be hearing a version of SO, that 25 years on takes advantage of modern technology and allows us to hear the recording in a way never before. I can't believe that the opportunity has been passed by to release this album as a hybrid multichannel SACD. This would have been something really new and well worth buying. As it is I am not attracted to buying this box set, for it does not interest me as I don't want yet another stereo version of the album. It is not surprising to see the music industry suffering when it appears to be stuck in time, and just keep offering us the same thing repackaged, instead of enticing us to buy something genuinely new in terms of a listening experience with a surround sound release. The hybrid SACD is a great format as it offers the versatility of something for all to enjoy and at a reasonable price. Just look at the success of Pink Floyd's 30th Anniversary Single inventory SACD release of Dark Side of the Moon. It meant that large numbers of people were able to part of the anniversary and hear the album in a brand new way. This box set will be bought by a few (and I have no problem with that at all) but it offers little in my view that is new and means that many of us will not be joining in celebrating this brilliant album. As I say, a great opportunity that has be lost to be inclusive and genuinely creative I feel

Hmmm, so Sledgehamer given the 1080p treatment and we are still officially told PoV will not be released on Blu Ray separately....
Maybe not in time for Christmas, but soon, I think.

Anyone got their copy yet?
I've been strong this time and stuck to my guns and not ordered for all the reasons discussed above, shame as it's the first box-set I haven't got in a long time.
I still think no word of a Blu-ray but to be able to view online for free HD version of videos is a bit cheeky. Would they really do the work for the videos if not to release them and not just in 720p downloads.
I hope people do like the boxset and the book, i love the new blood book and hopefully will see this one at some point. Also I hope people get their downloads and would be interested to hear comments on them.

Got the deluxe box set - downloaded FLAC version, but does not seem to want to play. Am now downloading again. Any tips on playing the downloaded file?
P.S. great box set and book. Well packaged. Nice one Real World & PG!
Just need to sort the FLAC files

What are you using to play the flacs with? Because they're 24/96 you'll find that only a handful of programmes will play them.
I would suggest Winamp. Alternatively, you could use something like Foobar.
If you get them to play, check out the first one and a half minutes of That Voice Again and let me know if it plays without drop outs. If it does, can I have a copy cos mine is corrupt

It opens up in iTunes, but then fails to play or even be visable in the iTunes screen. I'll try Winamp.

I managed to extract and convert the FLAC files and added them to my itunes library and have since burned to disc which plays fine in my hi-fi and my in car system.
I have to say that this box is immense in every respect - yes some people will have format issues but for me this is not a reason to deny you the pleasure of hearing and seeing a lot of new material. I think PG and his team have done a fantastic job!
My only gripe is in the text in the book there is an error in the first paragraph as to the date he moved to Ashcombe House (the book says 1971, when in fact its actually 1981).

Is there any way to legitimately download the 'Sagrada', 'Courage' and alt ver of 'Don't Give Up' other than spending a fortune on the deluxe box set? I've already purchased the 3CD special edition, however there was no 'download code'.. All I got was boring postcards

. . . you've got to be rich to be a PG fan these days. . . it ain't cheap being PG and he wants your $$$$$$$$£££££££. In return you get some recycled crap that's been sitting on the shelf for 25 years. . . beautifully packaged in a fancy box. Or you can eat, or if you've really got spare cash, check out some real new music by musicians that could really use your support.

Here on petergabriel.com it reads: "Limited Edition Box Set" but it does not say on how many copies the box is limited. Or is it just limited to those hardcore fans with too much money?
