I know, but if I told you, I'd have to kill you

Nah, not entirely sure what the deluxe box set will include but I have not ever been disappointed in Peter's deluxe box sets, so I'm thinking it'll be full of goodies.
Peter asked for fans to submit memorabilia from SO a few months ago, so I imagine that some things will make an appearance in the package. I wish he'd ask for a title of it because I'm already calling it "So and So" or sometimes, "Son of So", but I guess it'll be "So . . . oS Back to Front"
Eagerly awaiting it . . .

Holy cow! Now that is a comprehensive collection of So material. I'm impressed. Although I'll need to start saving up...

Really mixed feelings about this. So much that could have been included as part of this, hasn't.

To be honest, I was expecting a 2- or 3-disc edition at most. I love PG's live material, so the inclusion of Live in Athens trumps the other material that could be included.
That being said, another CD of b-sides and remix/extended tracks would have made this complete.

I can't fathom why Peter withheld the b-sides, remixes, and unreleased songs, unless he is holding them back for a rarities release in the future, but even then, we wouldn't get the scope of material as part of a rarities collection as could have been presented within the framework of the box set which would only focus on So. I'm left scratching my head over this one.

Amazon listing is wrong it lists bonus 3vinyls as a cd, it's vinyl only for those 3 as far as I can make out. No bside's or blueray of Athens is dreadful, But PG got me by the blue balls for buying this... But a piece of nonsense on the non Blueray Athens

I am certain there will be a Blu Ray released soon. York Tiller has already said he has seen the HD version. There is money in a Blu Ray version.
@AgentSage. Live from Athens took three years of studio fixing. It is not very live.

I'd say so, can't see if not having been done after Secret World and it sounds like a lot has gone into it so that would be a waste of time also.
I just wish who ever thinks cd audio versions of a dvd are a good idea would get over it, it is so easy to make your own or release as a download that it just takes up space that could have been used for the missing B-sides, re-mixes etc.
Also the so documentary is dvd only but is out on Blu-ray so why not both versions like most releases.
So if POV gets a separate release only the So DNA and 12" will be the exclusives to this and they might appear as a download sooner or later. The books are always nice and I do like collecting his stuff but I have seen better box-sets.
Overall then same as other people for me it's not bad but could have been so much more and imo a bit over priced I think it was £40-£50 range people might not mind so much.
Think I'll think it over for a while but I hope a dvd/blu-ray of POV is confirmed before this is out not after like the Live Blood 2 cd after the last box set.
I wish the 3 cd version would have been a bit different say So, So DNA and the DVDs of Athens with maybe the cd versions if they felt the need and set it £15 and then if people want the vinyl etc the bigger set is there.

I'll second that (or third it!). It seems to be the balance of content between the releases is all wrong.
The 3-disc version could have perhaps been a 4-disc version, including the album, live DVD, So DNA and the sought-after b-sides - with the 2 unreleased tracks. Price a little higher maybe, but it would have catered to all fans and budgets.
That way the "deluxe" set would have retained the exclusive book and vinyl. I'd have probably included the live album in that too, as it currently doesn't seem to be part of it.

Fans have wanted PoV on DVD for years. I can't see them all paying £80 for it! This has got to see a separate release a bit later, surely. I'm sure there'd be more demand for it as a standalone DVD than part of a set.

couldn't agree more Alex s personally I would love POV on DVD myself, and think it should and will be released on its own....

I'm not really interested in paying the premium price for that deluxe set just to get the DVD of POV as well. However, I would purchase it separately especially if it was available on blu ray. The Classic Album documentary is available separately. Maybe they are waiting until the holidays, to motivate people to purchase the big set....
The 3 disc set looks pretty cool to me though.

And if you really want POV , you can get dvd versions of the old vhs which I know isn't the best but it is out there. I cannot believe it will stay exclusive to this box set for long hopefully we will get told before too long.
For me Moby and Depeche Mode have done the best boxsets/re-releases, from the 4 disc sets for £15 to £40 for the DM massive box set which was great value for money.

Quite Disappointing. I'm not interested in live stuff, wich is the same as on the DVD
Whygetting vinyl and CD of the same album in the set also? Maximising the price for duplicate material. The best thing seems to be the DNA disc.
Duplicated material just to get a modest amount of bonuses seems a bit of a rip off. Less live stuff, have the main album in 5.1, more unreleased material and issue the vinyl separately.
