I have just found out that a "New Blood-ish" version of "Washing of the Water" has been available for some time now from Amazon.com (it was even free for one day as part of some PG promotion).
I can not fathom why it has not been included on any of the NEW BLOOD editions.

Although I have enjoyed most of Peter's orchestral work, Washing of the Water seemed to be a bit less inspired than some of his other re-imaginings.
That being said, I'm going to give it another listen with proper headphones, and perhaps I'll change my mind. Thanks for the reminder!

Yeah, I discovered it last week on Amazon MP3 (US). If I recall correctly, this New Blood version of Washing Of The Water is the second track of a 2-track re-release of his orchestral version of The Book Of Love. I bought the single download of Washing Of The Water and then added it to the end of my New Blood album that I bought from iTunes (US). I didn't create a post about it here on the forum because I figured everyone else already knew about it (and I just happened to FINALLY discover it). I like it . . . . I like all the New Blood versions . . . . . except Intruder, of which I don't like the original either.

You can't by this from .com if are the uk and it's not on amazon's uk site, what is the reasoning behind rules like this ?
Does anyone have a list/site of Peter's Singles releases, it's not covered on here.
Phil Collins last website had a great discography, it listed album info, singles from that album, gig dates/locations and probably more, shame it vanished when the new site came along.

Just noticed as you look at this post, the related media shows the news page when this came out which says a free download no matter where you are.
Click on the link excitedly and you return to the home page.
I guess if they were free it would be fine to share them, any offers ?

Yeah, cebs, I noticed that link to a suppossedly free download, but obviously it had expired (as it is the case for most results yielded by the search engine here), so I stopped trying and finally gave up and purchased it from Amazon.
But I am very "old school" and would have liked to have it included on some physical media edition; I have bought both the 2-Disc Special Edition and the Deluxe boxset edition, and it's pretty annoying that, even so, I had to go to iTunes for "Signal to Noise" and to Amazon for this "Washing of the Water". And, since I did not order from Real World, I am missing the "Father & Son" exclusive track.

same here mate, a box set should be just what it says on the tin not 'some stuff bar the exclusive stuff to all.coms' , having said that the book looks nice.
I couldn't even buy it as i am a uk customer so lost out at the moment.

cebs, I would be willing to email you the music file of the New Blood version of "Washing Of The Water". But you will have to explain to me, step by step, exactly what I would need to do. I'm not familiar with a lot of computer things. Sending a music file in an email is just something I don't know how to do. I bought a digital version of New Blood on iTunes (US) and also the 2-CD physical edition from Amazon (US) . . . . so I figure I've bought enough to allow one music file (which I ALSO bought) to be given to another Peter Gabriel fan (who is unable to buy it because of where he lives).

This website offered a free download of Washing of the Water after some folk complained that it was only available in the US. The link disappeared when the site had a makeover (maybe before). The download was only 192 kbps but it was free. I like this version - it goes well with the other bonus tracks (Father, Son and Signal to Noise). I didn't add them on to the end of New Blood in iTunes because the album is too long as it is (no need for Solsbury Hill)! But they make a nice little 'EP' of bonus tracks on their own.

Anybody know why "Biko" is being performed in his concerts, but not included on the New Blood albums?

there's still a few tracks live that aren't including properly somewhere but biko is on the dvd at least.
From the radio 2 , he did Heroes, Father/Son, Downside Up ( short version) and Secret World that as far as i know these live versions aren't on the dvd and only father/son is a bonus track from realworld.
It's just more stuff to stick in the ever growing master box set whenever it comes along !

Looks like 'Lead a normal life' might have been recorded too! If you look in the book there's a couple of song listings

The same happened for "Secret World". In fact Peter loved the outro but he wanted more work on the intro. That's also why it was shelved from the BBC recording.

The end was mint , i could tell he likes the bits when he goes off stage and just listens in.
I wonder what was wrong with the start, we all loved it on the night.
Maybe the missing broadcasts tracks can make it onto a b side, if there was a single release from the album these would be great on it.
I hope we haven't seen the last of Peter's cd singles and are just on download only now.

To . . . . . . You might recall . . . . . and to . . . . . . . cebs:
Previously in this topic, I wrote a reply to this same kind of request. I will repeat it:
I would be willing to email you the music file of the New Blood version of "Washing Of The Water". But you will have to explain to me, step by step, exactly what I would need to do. I'm not familiar with a lot of computer things. Sending a music file in an email is just something I don't know how to do. I will check back to see if you take me up on this offer.

That was a limited time offer and no longer available, Copenen. Unfortunately, the "Related Media" box includes information that is weeks, months and sometimes years out of date.
