Come on you movie moguls.
Or "Get your fingers out of your ears Mr Spielberg and do some listening."
All this fantastic music, surely there are some great film scores hereabouts.
Intruder to name but one!

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Peter's music has prooved many times it's suitable for films, he certainly can write stunning film scores. Especially New Blood cd tracks will be perfect for films.

I wonder if any movie moguls read this site? :-] Nevertheless I support the motion even if there is a risk PG might delay song writing to write film music. If it's as amazing as his previous scores I don't mind.
(I did just say that didn't I?) But yes, I could imagine New Blood as film music - but is there a film good enough? :-]

http://realworldmusic.com
this is a link to a section of this site dealing with the topic "Real World and Peter Gabriel-music at the MOVIES - including Hollywood, but also TV-series."
Real World is always keen on presenting music in movies, soundtracks and TV-series. Peter Gabriel himself contacts film-makers and directors, I think to offer or present tracks of his label for a use in a movie or at least to be included on a soundtrack. A movie-soundtrack could also be a platform to promote and present this kind of music - including Peter Gabriel`s OWN music.
We know over a dozen Hollywood-films, that feature PG- but also Real World-music.
A track like "Solsbury Hill" was used many, many times in Hollywood-movies - not only "Vanilla Sky" (Tom Cruise).
We also think of "Book of Love" : first use in "Shall We Dance" (Richard Gere), then in "Scrubs" - it always works very well.
Another cool examples are: The use of already known Peter Gabriel-instrumental-tracks like "In Doubt" and "The Heat" in the movie "Natural Born Killers" (Oliver Stone) or "Running to the Rain" for the trailer of "Passion of Christ" (Mel Gibson).
For me so far the 2 hottest candidates from "New Blood/SMB" to be featured in a Hollywood movie are:
- "Intruder" (New Blood) and "Power of the Heart".

I'm not a fan of gangster films except "Heat" with Robert de Niro ,Amy Brene. and Al Pacino. I think this film would be even more understandable in it's emotional , not gangster-qualities with music of Peter Gabriel like 'Heroes', 'My Body(or Life) is a cage' or 'Book of love', to take those from Scratch my Back. But the film would change his character.

And furtheron - there might be a good cooperation between Wim Wenders and Peter Gabriel. Wenders likes to stretch his films ( Bis zum Ende der Zeit, Der amerikanische Freund, Himmel über Berlin), but I like this way, because he handels with subjects which are going into future and are also very human and that is a real coincidence to Peter.

Rise - there was already a cooperation of Wim Wenders and PG in the past back in 1992 with a mix of "Blood of Eden" for the film "Until the End of the World". The song cannot be found on the soundtrack, therefore on the CD-single of "Blood of Eden".
the song can be found in this treasure box:

Allright Cimber- so Wim Wenders knows what is good! You have a real cool avatar today!
And now I have to cool down for the next days, because I'm not italian but westfalian and I think this way is only the right for me in homeopathic(ally) doses.
