Forums » Album » Which PG-songs will make it on the upcoming "New Blood"-album ?

. . .many tracks have been re-arranged and were already played live, but - which of PG`s OWN tunes will make it to "New Blood"-album ? Is it going to be a 2-CD-set or just a single disc ? How will the album-cover look like ? (surely designed once again by Marc Bessant). What will be the definite release date of this album ? They should SOON start to PROMOTE this new album.

"Should" being the operative word. At this point, Cimber, everyone at RW probably hasn't a clue, especailly PG. :-]

these are all questions i too have been asking myself. I really hope it is a two disc set! And that it is releases some time soon (early next year at the latest!) There are some songs i cannot wait to hear with an orchestra that haven't (yet?) been performed live such as Sledgehammer and Intruder! Who knows, Peter might even perform them tonight and on the other New Blood dates of this leg of the tour. I really hope San Jacinto gets on the album as i don't remember seeing it on those pieces of paper saying what they were recording on specific days (does that make sense? :-] ). Plus I'm very excited for a studio versions of the magnificent orchestral versions of Downside Up, Solsbury Hill, The Drop, The Blood of Eden, Red Rain ahhh i want them all :-] Plus i was wondering if there was any word on the grapevine of any news concerning I'll Scratch Yours? Anyone know if anything looks likely to happen sometime soon?

I wish Games and I Have The Touch made the album, it would be so interesting to hear those songs with an orchestra! I can't complain though, Sledgehammer and Intruder were also tracks I wanted to hear on this new cd.

I wish all that Peter decides to play, plus: - White Shadow - Down the DolceVita - Slowburn - Exposure ( ok,it's difficult imagine this song with Orchestra. . . . but it would be a nice experiment, why not?) - Moribund the Burgermeister - Only Us - My head sounds like that . . . strange choices. . . nobody will hear me,no problem,it costs nothing to dream. . . :-]

Come Talk to Me and Secret World would be two that I think might be interesting projects for a reinterpretation. Both songs provide a musical journey and it might be interesting to see how those could be rendered acoustically. But that said, there are so many.

imagine only one disc with only 12 songs - or maybe 13. That would be hard. This means not all of those songs recorded or performed live so far with orchestra, would make it on that album. "San Jacinto", "Rhythm of the Heat", "Signal To Noise" and "Digging in the Dirt" will appear on the new album for sure, but how about the rest ?

I thought I read here the New Blood album would be made available for sale at the new European shows?? Anyone been to one yet??
rraven 17 September 2010 at 5:11pm Posts: 3102 (0 today) Status: offline
No, MrYum, the album is not finished and is not going to be available. PG said that he'd hoped to have the CD ready by September, but (suprise suprise) that didn't happen.

Rraven - he didn't say which September, so it may still happen. . . if it's gonna be two CDs then I hope it's more worthwhile than the feeble 2CD version of SMB. . .

Ceridwen and I met Ben Foster and his wife (who plays violin on the orchestra) on the Brussels "Grande Place" the day after the show. He confirmed that they are doing hard work recording PG tracks with the orchestra. He said it will come out but he didn't say when exactly!

Nice reporting, Sammy!

I`ve got another logic question about "New Blood"-album: Will mastermind Bob Ezrin do the production work again ?

I'd like to hear Family Snap Shot, Here Comes the Flood, Washing of the Water, Sky Blue, Lay Your Hands On Me, Red Rain. I could keep going
