It seemed like the UP tunes translated best to orchestra at the RCMH show. It got me to thinking that maybe Peter was headed in this direction either consciously or subconsciously back then. Two examples being that IMO Signal to Noise was very very powerful at the show. In addition My Head Sounds Like That already has horns in it and would translate well too. Opinions?

Yes, "My Head Sounds Like That" would also translate very well to orchestra. It`s a great song and I am sure, it would sound even better in a "New Blood Live"-dress with full orchestra and live-vocals. Bob Ezrin was already responsible for the brass arrangement on this track back then. One can say, that "UP" already includes some very fine and perfect orchestral arrangements on "Signal To Noise", "Darkness" and "My Head Sounds Like That" plus the piano/voice-track "The Drop", which made it a lot easier for the arrangers of "New Blood Live" compared to other candidates of the PG-song-catalogue like for example "Digging in the Dirt" or "Rhythm of The Heat".

I don't think that's UP is a prelude of SMB because it's PG stuff only and you can hear powerful drums and guitars on it. I think, in a way that , on PG I, numbers like down the dolce vita or here come the flod could have been also preludes to SMB.

Agreed. I think it's difficult (. . impossible :-]) to determine where inspiration of an Artist come from. . . By the way, like others say well, there are many others examples to think this: "PGI" and more. . . . "UP" is a refined Album, with sounds very elegant, but i can not think this Album like "a prelude" of something in future. . . . For me every Albums of Peter are "pearls of a moment" of Artistic expression of Peter. Complexity is that all are completely different form each other, and Peter is Artis in constant evolution,so personally i don't see connection
