Much too expensive yes. But mostly, I don't really care of a 'deluxe' package if there are no real special bonus tracks or special versions. None of these tracks are unique. Look at what Radiohead did for their fans with their latest album 'In Rainbows': A beautiful special box, with a full unreleased album ( 7 or 8 tracks!->Double album version) and all of that for something like 80 Euros if I remember well.

. . . but I'm glad that there aren't any extra tracks on this expensive folly - imagine how you'd feel knowing that there was more music, but only available to a few rich people? I just wish that the effort put into producing this kind of thing went into something that all PG fans could value - like a really comprehensive retrospective (not just another retread like "Hit") - something full of hidden gems brought to the surface.

I had been waiting for this too, so haven't actually bought the album at all yet!! However, despite often being a sucker for these things it's way too expensive for me. Maybe if i'd loved the album it would be different but I find it a bit dull. His own reinterpretations from the New Blood tour were much more interesting. I recently bought the new Massive Attack album from the vinyl factory on double heavyweight vinyl with an extra 12" of 4 remixes (which are excellent) and a copy of the cd in different packaging, all in a beautiful triple fold out sleeve with pages of art work.£30! And it's a fantastic album! (not signed or particularly limited and there is an expensive version coming). The thing is I wouldn't have bought SMB to sell, so it doesn't matter whether the price goes u or down for me.

Way expensive. I bought the last Sigur Ros special edition - 200 page bound book, CD, exclusive DVD, names of the people who had preordered included. £50. I can't believe this PG box set is priced so high.
