Forums » Album » poor quality packaging but lovely music

I bought the 2 disc version last night. I was very glad it wasn't a digipak (I hate them-I've converted all of mine-singles & doubles-to jewel cases.). Once I removed the shrink wrap & paper sleeve, the quality of the packaging was poor. The booklet looks like it was forced in the case because there's a big horizontal crease in the cover on the stapled side, and a big vertical crease on the opposite side. The booklet was not cut straight-the bottom is wider than the top. There are 4 white rings on the front of the jewel case (like rings a wet glass leaves on a table, only much smaller). I might exchange it because it annoys me that I pd $16.99 + tax for something that doesn't even look nice. But maybe they're all like that. I think because the cover art is so pretty and on solid black, the flaws stand out more than they would on other albums. I haven't listened to the discs yet but had listened to some of it online & thought it was lovely. I was surprised by the number of negative comments posted about the music (and why were they so nasty?). I have a background in classical music and enjoyed the instrumentation/arrangements (as I did with Passion & songs like "My Head Sounds Like That"). I have no problem with an album that is maintains a similar mood or tempo throughout. When I got Brendan Perry's Eye of the Hunter CD, at first I thought it was too uniformly slow & dark, but now I love that about it because I can put it on when I'm going to bed & not be jarred by changes in tempo/volume etc. Speaking of Brendan.the Ark tour starts next month & no one seems to have a release date.anyone here know?

Hello,my packaging of my double CD is perfect About "negative comments", my impression is the opposite: i have read here a lot of positive comments, not only, but many comments made by experts of Music, people who have a lot of knowledge of Music,so their opinions are made with a lot of knowledge. Surely S.M.B can not pleasure everyone, but i think Works of Peter sometimes are not understood or appreciated immediately, but in my opinion it takes time . . . . . like the radio waves: it takes time and then people "pick up" his wonderful Art

Anyone know the concept behind the cover? New blood I guess (red blood cell) but is there something else? a pair of lips or is it diseased (sickle cell?) Any info appreciated.
