There are some brutal comments on the Guardian page

Clearly those are people who obviously don't "get" the album concept. PG doesn't do things straightforward, so why would he be obliged to do a covers album with drums & guitars? There'd be no point. Covers are SUPPOSED to be different!
These are the kind of folk who probably just own "So" or "Shaking the Tree", and expect more of that.
"It's depressing". "It's depressing". "It's depressing".
OK - my fears may be confirmed, as it does sound very sombre and downbeat. Not what I want out of a PG record if I'm honest, and I'm no fan of cover versions either, which won't help. But from the clips I've heard, there are some wonderful pieces on there. I'm looking forward to Listening Wind most of all.
I'm scared I won't like SMB, I'll admit that. Maybe I'm more excited about the idea of a new PG release rather than it's content. But either way I'm looking forward to it, and will give it an honest try.
Let's face it, it's a project personal to Peter. He wanted to do it. He doesn't actually need to keep recording albums - but it's still his passion at heart. If he likes it, there's bound to be hundreds of other people who do.
This album though, may divide the fans, and some may look upon it as a 'filler' in between albums. That's fine by me, providing we do get a new album of new PG songs, while he's still able! ;-p
