Oh, as I wrote in another threat concerning this topic, I dearly hope so but seriously doubt it. Even though the SACDs of Peter (and others) fetching high prices now on amazon the record companies seem to have decided that there is no money to be made in SACD. I would love to have that album on SACD even in stereo. Come on Peter, suprise us! Especially a recording that features a big orchestra should benefit nicely from high res.

Does anyone know if this will be SACD?
Given PG's appreciation for the format with the re-releases I REALLY hope the new CD will be SACD.
Anyone heard anything?

It's strange it hasn't benn announced yet. Peter said a few years back he intended to release all of his future album in multichannel. And in an article I read SMB has been recorderded in multichannel. I just hope they don't want us to buy the album twice, and release the multichannel version (in sacd or DVDaudio) a bit later. That would be.not nice.

Doh!
Well you would think if it's recorded in multichannel then it would be a SACD release?
Maybe we will have to wait until someone has a copy in their hands???!!!

. . . apparently the "deluxe" version of SMB will include 24bit downloads - is that the same as SACD?

SACD has been around for quite a few years.
its a much better sounding format than cd.
unfortunately never took off for many reasons.
you can read more about it on the web

I didn't see all these posts before I added my comments. SACD versions of all the orchestral works are a must - especially after blowing 80K on an SACD set up.

Same as Bob Anderson - didn't see this before I posted. If there is a deluxe edition released I hope it will not be as a 2 disc edition 1 cd and 1 dvd with dolby surround. To me this option is not green, it is wasteful and wrong, given that SACD does the whole job nicely in one disc and offers better quality surround sound in my view.

I also wanted to say that I think it is a bit unfair that those who want a vinyl version of the new album are offered this, but those of us who want an SACD version (with warmer sound than a CD that sounds more like Vinyl) are not offered it. So much for offering what the customer wants.
