This is great! His voice is beautiful. Wonder how it will sound live with orchestra in a big venue like Bercy. ( and the scary thing is; late yesterdayevening I ordered two tickets for Paris. This night I had a dream that together with the confirmation there were MP3 files with some excerpts of the songs!)

Just so good to hear PG talking about it with such passion. I have to say it's a joy to hear his voice so uncluttered and some wonderful high notes too. :-]

I think this Album must be listened to carefully.

I say this because,in my opinion, the Orchestra give this "different dimension" to the songs, this atmosphere classic and new at the same time. . . . fashinating :-
I agree, the voice of Peter is always beautiful,we feel his intensity, but only for few seconds. . . .it will be fantastic to listen to this Album quietly. . .
Another facet of this dimond, another colour of this Artist that always surprise all of us. . .

I can not wait to "taste" this new colour of this Artist that is like a dimond that you look for a long time, and seems to see a new colours, fresh and bright. .

p.s. thank you for these 4 "little pieces"

Thank you so much,I couldn't wait untill February!Wow,his voice is so perfect,it seems to me that it's like it is on Red Rain,my fovourite PG song!I didn't expect or want to hear the songs as they are of course, and that's it's beauty. What actually surprised me is that the songs work so well with the orchestra.Oh my,he must have worked hard to make this recording come true, thanks Peter!

Thank you web team for this update and thank you Peter for what sounds to be a very different and very beautiful album. Can you believe his range??? It does seem to be very initmate and very personal.
I can NOT wait to hear this stuff live and it looks like we might get the chance to do just that in the USA. Two wonderful things come out of this. I get to see PG in concert again with some totally new stuff and I get to meet up with some of my Lunatic friends again and maybe even meet some new faces that I've come to know here. I hope the ticket sales hold off until after Christmas. I have decided that I don't really need to eat. I need to save that money!!!!!!
Fingers crossed!!!!!

Sorry for my english.
After listening to the sample i would say that 3 songs sound great. Why? his voice, the arrangements.everything. He has made his this songs, sound like him, really.
But not heroes. PG voice sounds a little bit dramatic, not natural, not like being himself, just interpretating.I love David bowie's song, i do, maybe my expectatives were very high with this cover.and maybe i have to listen to the whole cover, not just a piece.
What do you think??

Hello,
I appreciate the new album very much, but I am not sure, if ?Heroes? is on the right place as a first track. This song has changed it?s mood so much, at least in the snippet I could listen to.
David Bowie original version is sad, but there is a kind of contrariness or defiance, which comes through. I think, that?s why so many people love this song. Maybe in Peter?s version this feeling comes through later on.
I really love Peter Gabriel interpretation of ?Boy in the Bubble? and am looking forward to hearing the whole CD and to visiting the concert in Berlin.

Actually, I did'nt recognise "heroes", I recognise the lyrics by chance.
This version is strong very strong , deep and moving me but ,a little bit dark . I think that, to make my opinion, I 'll have to hear to the whole song.

Ooh, found it already! :-]
In Heroes he sounds like he`s crying.
Me likes.
Perhaps it would be better as a LAST track of an album, instead of a first track.
But me likes. :-]
I bet it`s gonna be a lovely record, but maybe I will miss some POWER, the "PG `s giving me shivers" thing. sounds very soft comparing to what we`re used to hear from PG.
Very emotional. The arranges are great. Me likes anyway.

I didn't like Heroes that much either. He sings the melody in a completely different way, and I agree his voice is too dramatic, plus it's a bit too slow and I found it a bit boring, although maybe it changes nearer the end of the song.
Maybe I had too much expectation with that song since I love Bowie. The other three sounded great and I loved Peter's voice, I especially liked the Elbow cover.

I agree with Madadayo,absolutely

We do not forget that Peter is not "a singer" he is The Artist,he has different sensibility and approaches with the Music from others "normal-famous-singers".If we consider also that he is a great Composer!
I try to say that,in my super-humble opinion of course, we must move away from the "stereotypes" of these famous songs like "Heroes",and we consider that there is Orchestra,no guitar,no drums!
We must free our soul, and second open our soul to the "interpretation" of Peter, then we can admire the beauty of the "work" of Peter, her beatiful voice, the emotions that he gives us,and admirer his re-creation of these songs that he has chosen, and try to understand better. . . . I can not wait!
