my wife and me, we were in peter´s performance in germany, stuttgart. we really enjoyed the whole performance though we already knew every single peace of music, not only from having listened to the album but from following the whole process of scratch my back since 2010. the audience: the first thing rather unpleasent we noticed was that in the audience , almost all the time , people were moving around while the music on the stage was played. bying beer or something to eat, keeping standing in groups and talking loudly. finally, almost at the end of the show, the artists played biko. crowds of people running to the front of the stage, dancing, holding up their arms. though the concert still took about almost have an hour, most of them kept standing in front of the rest of the audience. party? circus? the stage: it does not have to be mentioned that the dynamic and emotional expression of this phantastic crew including its crazy diamond cannot be compared with the one when you listen to the record. but we could not understand what intention and what kind of reason could be behind so much use of video and light effects. we felt it as something very disturbing . in relation to the enormous concentration in the perception of that variety of sound you had to achieve if you were willing to enjoy it, light and picture effects overtook the regiment and distracted from it by an insistent and sometimes even agressive way. i know this is a critical view of mine. and my wife. though there is more about this issue i would want to share , firstly i would like to offer space for your points. no question that this is surely something going further and getting transformed into a general question about how.. the show must go on( ? )

I disagree when you talk about overtook of light effects, because you have to consider that Peter gives us his music in a complete different way, with Orchestra instead a band. A new atmosphere, new sound like an Orchestra only can give, even lights contributed to accompany this special atmosphere, a very cute choice by Peter and his stuff to present to us this "strange" way to interpret his fantastic music. You know that Peter loves to shuffle the cards, he loves to amaze the audience, he loves special effects , so the show is always a question mark , i think this About the audience: people sometimes do not understand the price of silence, they do not respect a concert with an Orchestra, because they think to watch a concert is only a way to dance and talk and shout, and they do not care for those who want to listen to it, there is nothing to do. .

hi dolce, "A new atmosphere, new sound like an Orchestra only can give"... "a very cute choice by Peter and his stuff to present to us this "strange" way to interpret his fantastic music" yes, this sis absolutely fact. but what is about the light and video show? am i not right when i say that in this case peter makes no exception? i would even say now, he is doing exact the same thing like every well- known rock band. no question that he was one of the pioneers visualising music and creating videos but if you take an objective look at the whole thing during the last 30 years, wouldn´t you agree that is has turned into something out of control and nothing else as one more way of making business? "we take it for it is here to take, no matter wherefor or why", kind of thoughtlessess and in consequence, emptyness? please don´t misunderstand me. it is not my intention to put peter´s "shuffling of cards" down to the level of the mass culture let alone to compare him with any body else in the scene. if you remember my comments during the last 3 years you can clearly see my postion to his work. inspite of that, i would ask: what comes next? 3d outside the screen?robots on stage?cyborgs with the better copy of peter´s voice if you want? we need to reflect what is going on. technology should remain a tool. i am not the only critical watcher to see it turning to the other way round: self- enslavement. peter´s sratch my back project is very special moreover he finaly did not use any drums and guitars, and which is important to point out, no hocus pocus of sound effects. so what i would have to expect concerning the visual would be something like candles. fire. water. wind. or simply pure darkness. whatever. in my view, this site is not only made for applauses. and if you want to remain far of the masses, you have to reflect how your message touches the audience and alway keep your eyes and ears open to critical points. but how to get attention by a distracted audience?

Hi wave project FIrst of all i want to remind you that Peter always said that he has to think not only like an artist but also like a bussinessman about his music. From early time of 80's he said it's hypocritical to not admit this, and he wanted to want music that he wants and then to sell it in a best way. Today like yesterday, Peter does not hid himself. You say: " he is doing exact the same thing like every well- known rock band". Now i ask you: you use the computer, do you think like me? or like rest of the wordl? Or do you think to be different from others? Have we all the same way of thinking because we have all the computer, or maybe do we have different way of thinking? I try to say that computer is a means to communicate, but all of us has their personalities and unique way of use it and thinking. LIke Peter: lights effects and thecnology are a means, but we have to search the essence of an aritst, his unique way of being, all the rest (lights, robots, special effects and so on, , ) are consequence. Please come back in time for one second: concerts of Pink Floyd were completely different from Genesis, concerts of The Who completely different from Led Zeppelin or Rolling Stones, or Neil Young , but all of them used lights, but the had a completely different way of present to the audience their musical compositions. Today nothing change: if i am looking at Peter's concert i do not think at nobody else, if i see at Sigur Ros concert i do not think at Peter and so on. . .because the thing tha capture me is not lights effects, but what Peter try to send me, his music, his unique way of being etc. The essence. You ask: "What comes next?" I do not know, but if you follow Peter as you are, you will find something special in his music , in his concerts, no matter how, with help of lights or special effects, the most important thing is the music and the artist. This is my humble point of view. . .. and yes, we can absolutey criticize Peter or something of his projects if we think there is something wrong, i think Peter wants this, he wants free-mind fans, not puppets ..
