Hi all Lunatics!
I've always wanted to meet Peter Gabriel, for years i dreamed to speek to him (nothing extraordinary,2 minutes and a photo),maybe i still believe in this moment because Peter is just a normal nice person, not like almost all rockstars..
So i have this question:If Peter will come to Italy next year and If i buy a vip ticket is there a very remote possibility for my dream become true?
I'm not rich,in Italy this moment for young people is very dark and the ticket is very expensive,in any case i will go alone...
Please tell me what you think (don't put too much sarcasm in yuor opinions,i'm 25 but i still believe and hope one day i will have this chance

Buying a VIP ticket does not entitle you to hang out with or talk to PG. Actually, two minutes is quite a long time taking into account that perhaps some 50 people will have a VIP ticket. Imagine what it would mean for PG spending 100 minutes every night talking to total strangers.
He will just do the soundcheck *on stage* while you will be seated *off stage*.
As for being a nice person: Frankly, we don't know him, just his music. From what I have read, he indeed seems to be a nice chap (well, mostly), but how do you tell "most others" aren't?
If you want to talk to him personally, become a journalist and arrange an interview. But this would still mean that you ar supposed act like a professional journalist - not like a hardcore fan.

I know that if i buy a vip ticket i will not hang out with him,if you read i wrote "is there a very remote possibility.."I only wanted to know if on the soundcheck he sometimes go to talk with fans..I'm not counting the seconds,i say 2 minutes only to make clear that i don't want to waste his time,it's not so difficult to understand.
I think he is a nice person, you can watch his google interview,if you are a long time fan you know it,i readed of fans have met him and they all said that if he can he try to be nice, even with the strangers! It's up to us understand a person, and i think i know that he is "human" (and be human is one of most important compliments for me).I think Peter is very humble and i think too much popular rockstars act like arrogants, that's why i say "like most others"for me it's the true .I never will act like a superhardcore fan if i meet him,i'm a musician too,and i don't cover gold on everything he do!
My post wasn't so literal like you responded. Thanks anyway for your precious idea kotangens,i will start right now study to be a journalist, exellent idea..
Peace

Dreamer,
First off, I like your name, "dreamer". Secondly, I like your post and the manner in which you presented it. You asked a question that has been asked by many, many others here (and some who aren't even brave enough to ask it for fear of criticism) and I'd like to offer my own answer, based on some personal experiences.
As you already know, buying the VIP tickets doesn't give you access to any personal time with PG, but your question is legitimate. Although any thing can happen and changes could be made, my experience with VIP tix have been that it allows me that "extra" from pg - the sound check. During the sound check pg does interact with the audience as a whole, taking time to explain some things, but mostly he just does what he needs to do for the sound check. He then says thanks and the audience is dismissed, brought to dinner, etc while pg and the band continue to do their sound check.
Like yourself, I have always wanted to meet pg...even if only for a few minutes and I've been fortunate to have that happen for me, a few times, in fact, but honestly, I've been incredibly nervous each time, even though I shouldn't be.
I can tell you that I also think that PG is a nice, decent human being even though I don't know him personally. I think you can tell a lot by a person from their behaviors, even in public. I don't pretend to think that pg is perfect, nor do I even expect him to be, but I know lots of people in my life personally whom I thought were great and it turned out that they weren't so great after all. Basically, I agree with you in having a good feeling about his personality.
I do hope that you are able to meet pg one day, even if its not next year on tour. In the meantime, keep on being a dreamer. For me, being a dreamer is only the first step in living the reality...it's what makes the world go 'round for me.
Good luck with it all and kind regards,
Dreamer

Aah, Dreamer . . . now, there's another man I always admired and never had the chance to meet . . . what an opportunity that would have been
