Given most of us have got good tickets, the VIP package increasingly looks absurdly priced. I enjoyed being VIP in Liverpool 2004 and Premier in Birmingham the same year, but I don't remember the prices being anywhere near the £300 mark. What was the USA gift? It's would have to be worth around 150 to make up for the cost price of everything else which is available elsewhere. The sound check this time is not quite as fun as last as the band aren't walking through the arena, meeting fans to get to the stage, so again isn't really worth it.

i too haven't got any emails with pre-sale links. Can someone kindly send one to me, thanks!

Hey - please stop all the negative stuff about pricing. It is what it is. The world is an expensive place to be and not everyone can afford everything. there are many things i cant afford but i dont begrudge those who can afford it - it is just life. I am sooooooooooo looking forward to this tour that i have made a decision to live on beans on toast for a month to do it. we all have the same choices. - Actually scrap that, bread is really expensive these days so maybe just the beans - but that is another topic..... anyone here think PG is to blame for the price of wheat? peace & love all round

thanks Adam. Managed to get some but not nearly as close as I'd hoped. Been a member here since the very beginning so dissapointed not to have been emailed first time round.

Disappointed that I needn't receive the email, but luckily managed to find the pre-sale link via Twitter. I'm surprised that there was no password/code/login required, so luckily was able to get tickets. Don't think they are particularly close to the front, but presumably the £45 tickets through the Kililive presale must be better seats than what will be available through Friday's general release?

@ grumps-- *your* name is grumps! The issue with pricing for VIP tickets isn't "it is what it is". Trent Reznor's brilliant blog piece explains this. In summary the VIP tickets are priced at what the artist thinks they can get away with as they were fed up with scalpers making huge profits. Similarly most of the eBay scalpers now get front row tickets through back channels with the full knowledge of the artist and their management. Whether PG is involved in that this time, I'm not sure, but he certainly would have signed off on the VIP prices. You aren't paying for anything other than the artist's profit. The only downside is that increasingly live shows are flat and the band have nothing to work off as the fans are at the back and corporate tickets at the front. This is a live forum and ticket pricing is a huge issue in music and I think is fair for discussion. I love PG but I don't have a uniform gushing for everything he does. I would think he prefers the fan who is still a fan but has criticism and opinions, rather than one who blanketly accepts everything. As an artist you want to engage with your fans, not simply have sycophants. Finally it's not simply about finances. I'm lucky I have a well paying job and I can choose to fly transatlantic last minute and catch him as I've done before. But I'm not going to blow my money away because I can, especially if I feel I'm being played as a mug. If that makes me the *true* grump on the forum so be it!

"You aren't paying for anything other than the artists profit"............ so the sound check, pre show hospitallity (however good or bad), a few 'gifts' and the experience of making more of a 'day' of the whole event, saying you were part of something interesting, having a story to tell your grand kids etc etc aren't worth 290 pounds over a base ticket. I think that is not bad value. I expect to pay for for this and if that is the price PG puts on it then that is the price. I do accept that Ticket pricing is an issue (as in sport / the olympics etc), and i accept that a live forum is exactly the place to air peoples views. But i wonder whether just talking about ticket prices in isolation of all the other changes which have gone on in the music business (Vinyl, CD, digital media, dominance of the big publishing groups in the charts etc etc) gives a fair picture. Artists dont earn from the music like they used too and it still costs money to make and distrubute music an put on a show. Anyhow - i accept your view is different to mine so that is fine Grumps - who is actually quite a happy person really

Gumps, not to labour the point but I think there is a price for the experience, but £300 is pushing it IMHO. But they have to price it at what they can get away with and for that money I'm not prepared to play mug. I've done the VIP thing with other bands and tours and there was a lot more to it for far less money. There is more to chat in the music industry. I like to keep Live chat in the Live forum and so on. My views on the boxset were clear too. Clearly matters have move on and many artists have to offer these boxes and tour packages to make up the money, but traditionally they have to offer value. PG has offered much more for far less in the past and considering the nature of this tour and show, this is a disappointment. Anyway, enough for me! Like you, I am a pleasant person too, so it takes a bit annoy me and this did. You pad your money and you makes your choice. I can't recommend this enough: http://forum.nin.com/bb/read.php?59,548515
