At Themez -- I'm glad you got your tix. We'll definitely have to meet up before the show begins. I have bought soundcheck tickets again for this show and Yellow Lunatic Deb and I will be attending together. So, I think we'll be there early as before. I'm sure to meet up with you before the show. At Zen -- Thanks for the wishes. I must admit that last week I was looking for a ticket for a friend in work who was possibly going to attend the show and the seats are far and few between. I'm very happy to have bought my tix when it first went on pre-sale in July. I'm hoping that security at the venue are able to allow people to stand along the barricade as they did in Philly. Honestly, being in the aisles is never really allowed because it truly is one of the biggest hazards and security is usually pretty tight about it. I totally get it, but sometimes they do make allowances for certain songs (esp at the end) and honestly, once they "lose" the aisle (with the crowd filling the aisles), they don't make much of an effort to clear it unless they have to (e.g., a fight breaks out, etc.). In Laura's case in Philly, initially a woman who was sitting next to Laura (who obviously did not have any desire to even be out on a Friday night, let alone attend the show) had gotten security to clear the entire first few rows -- they weren't even affecting her at all, but she felt the need to have it done. Made her feel better I suppose. So, when Laura returned to her seat, I told her that it was her friend in the row who had done it. Later, Laura was able to get to the barricade and stay there. I soon joined her and we just stayed there the rest of the night -- no more problems -- we just behaved ourselves (for as good as lunatics can) and enjoyed the show. Jones' Beach was an entirely different story -- not many people stood (only 3 in our section) and if you stepped outside of your assigned seat, security was right on it. Let's hope for a great show, great fans, great security and no one gets arrested!

Laura & Pat, I've moved. I've just gone and done the craziest thing I have ever done in my entire life. Its almost like I'm experiencing some kind of PG mania. I Just bought another ticket that puts me in a more comfortable dancing location at the VA show. In section 5. It will have its draw backs but at least I won't feel like a sardine. I'm hoping a can unload the other at the show! Any ideas anyone?

I think you may in trouble with that ticket to sell. You don't have enough time to put it on Stub Hub and sell it because you'd have to Fed Express it, and you're really cutting it close with that. You could try listing it on Craig's List for the Northern Virginia/DC area, but in order to sell, you'll have to probably offer it at a discount. Other than that be prepared to offer it outside the Patriot Center. Selling only 1 ticket to a show that still has tickets available will be really tough though...a discount might do it though. I wish I had better news for you. If all else fails, offer it to someone at your hotel, or at the University, and consider it a 'random act of kindness'. Where is the ticket you are trying to sell? I've done the same thing at a PG show before. You are not alone in your PG mania~Good luck Ceil!

Thanks for your advice Laura. The ticket is in Sec 4 Row J I'm not a expert on these things and thought someone on the forum might have some suggestions. I'm suffering a little buyers remorse I think. I kinda new I was in trouble the minute I clicked to purchase it but did it anyway. I did take a look at Stub Hub and Ticketmaster resell. You're right I don't have enough time. The whole PG mania started immediately after he announced his new tour. After a really tough year I decided to treat myself and just go for broke and make it an absolutely great tour experience. Its been that and more. Yeah I think I just went a little overboard on VA but oh well the deed is done. I think your suggestion about a "random act of kindness" is a good one. I need to place an offering to the PG gods anyway in thanksgiving to an absolute fantastic time watching Peter Gabriel play. Life is good!!! From now on if I buy another ticket it better be to the Sound Check!!!!!b T minus 6 days and counting!!

Don't know what to tell you, but it would be hard to pass up a better seat. I ate a ticket at the Wisconsin show, as a friend couldn't make it last minute, but in that case both seats were next to each other and gave me a little more flexibility for looking more or less past the post that partially blocked me view. Best of luck finding someone for the ticket. Even if you don't have fun seeing Peter his last two nights of this tour.

Themez -- I agree with Laura -- you can either sell the ticket on the day of the show or you can simply give it to someone as an act of goodwill -- either way, you'll be happy I think. I know that you're not on facebook, but wanted to give you my e-mail address there so that we can exchange some information for the day of the show, if you'd like, so that we can be sure to at least see each other to say Hello. You can e-mail me at: pparkerrn@facebook.com -- I think that will work to send me a message. Good luck with it all and have a great show Saturday night and safe travels afterward.

A six hour drive is rough but you should be amped enough from the first show to knock out the first hours with a big grin on your face. Safe Travels!

I'll be on the lookout for the e-mail, it should get there safe and sound -- facebook never has any f' ups! . Seriously, I'll let you know as soon as I get it. I believe that Laura has posted a link to the place that a few of us are thinking of going to after the show on Sun night, so be sure to check that out as well. Will you be traveling back home after the show on Sun night or are you staying in VA that night? Ok. I'm off here in a few minutes so that I can get up bright and early tomorrow and finish up the things I need to do before traveling See everyone real soon!

Themez -- no e-mail as of now. If you'd like to resend it to my other e-mail address, you can: pparkerrn@netzero.com That should work fine.

Pat -- Ok I'll try again. Here's an e-mail you can contact me if you want to try it the other way around. thejunkspot-gabrielrocks@yahoo.com P.S. I'll be staying the night a hotel in DC, so going to the "PG pub crawl" afterwards might be fun

Hey Ceil -- I got the e-mail from you so we have made contact! My e-mail contains my info in it so you can contact me once you're in VA area. I'm glad you're staying overnight also -- me thinks this might be a fine ending to the tour afterall -- hope there's room in them there pint glasses for some tears -- happy ones, of course . . .

I think we're all coming down from the tour and show...and stepping back into our Real Worlds. I don't think Peter will be in England long enough to follow him back...I think his year of travel will start very soon, if it hasn't already. It was a fantastic show-fantastic gatherings. A brief description of the final show: one of the trucks of equipment was delayed a bit arriving to VA because it hit a deer leaving Connecticut~no delay in showtime though. PG seemed very relaxed, and was really grooving during sound check. He sat at his piano and sort of grooved on his piano bench in a way that looked like he was really relaxed and having a great time. He sounded a bit tired, his voice still there, but a bit deeper sounding-I did see him taking some honey every now and then during the show, and at times David R. definitely filled in some of the singing portions a bit more than usual to let PG off a bit on some of the singing. At least that's how it looked and sounded to me. The show went well, a few glitches in lyrics, and PG and the band didn't do their dance during Excellent Birds. Either that was pre-planned, or the band was watching for cues from PG, but all stood in their spots during that song, versus the other shows that I had seen, where they danced around the stage. Another little thing to help with fatigue, I assume. The Fairfax audience wouldn't recognize the difference, only those that attended other shows would recognize the change. It was a great audience-and relaxed security, which allowed me to get from the 5th row, to the front row with no trouble. I worked up the nerve to make the move up during Solsbury Hill-no one gave me any trouble at all. I did not see Themez at the show, but I did meet Poppa Yeti. He was sitting only a few rows behind me, so we had a chance to chat before the show. After the show we went to The Auld Shebeen-and the gathering included: Pat Parker, Yellow Lunatic Deb, Lone Palm and his family, including a nephew that lives in the area. We had a nice chat about the show, had some great food and drink, lots of laughs and stories and parted ways around 1:30am. Other lunies that we met up with before the show were: Eve and Vero from Canada, and JC and his wife. Eve and Vero were right near me at the rail in front of the stage, and they had a wonderful dance coordinated though most of the songs! The two of them have definitely attended lots of shows together and have the whole thing choreographed out! Loved it! There are a few other stories to tell, but I'll leave some of it to Pat P or some of the others, to fill in what I might have left out. Laura

Laura, the elimination of the dancing during "excellent birds" I think happened at the Santa Barbara show. During the sound check Peter was talking with the band about how they or the song seemed to lack energy and he wanted to "drive" (peter's phrase) the the song more. The result was the elimination of the dancing, playing a little stronger and staying seated instead of pulling out the portable keyboards.
