Ok everyone, I've been to 3 PG shows thus far Philly, NY and Boston. I loved them all. Especially Philly!! Way to go philly fans!!! I'll be going to the Connecticut show on Oct 13th. I love PG's music so much that if he sang about sh*t I would most likely enjoy it. I'm getting a strong urge to see the VA show as well. (There are still tickets available) The problem is I only have enough money for the ticket...not the hotel or what it would cost to board my dogs. It s a 6 hour drive to VA and 6 hrs back home. Do you think that the sheer love of PG music will give me the energy to drive down to the show and back? Or am i just crazy with out any self control . I feel the impulse to go for it. What do you think? And what song should I play to keep me awake on the trip back home?

You have to do what's right for you. I think if one of the following shows was on a Saturday, hint, hint, and was within 6 hours of me, it would be hard not to go. As it is, that is not an option, so an easy decision. Best of luck if you do go.

Hi themez! I can understand the dilemma you're in and I've been there myself with decisions like this. As Zen said, you have to do what's right for you, but here are some things to help you work through it . . . You're going to CT show on Sat 10/13, yeah? The VA show is on Sunday, 10/14 -- these two shows are about the only ones back-to-back on this tour, so even the band, crew, etc., will be feeling it a bit me thinks. In your case, you would be leaving the show after 11pm on Sat., having to drive for 6 hours on Sunday, attend the show, and return home that same evening? -- I think it really depends on how much stamina you have, but I think it's tought to do a 6 hr. drive AFTER the show (driving in the morning might not be so tough, even if you've only had a bit of sleep the night before). I don't envy you having to make this decision because trust me, I've been there before. I am not sure if you are going alone or with others -- that would make a huge difference in the traveling. Whatever you decide, keep us posted and if you're there, have a great time and look for yellow lunatic and myself -- we'll be there at VA show!

I'm soooo there!!!! I bought my ticket today for Virginia. Money or not who give s flying.... That's what's plastic was created for...to see Peter Gabriel!! Thanks Zenrider and Pat!! I needed some input from some true fans!!! Was teetering on the edge of not going and that'ss just chaaaraaazy.!! Seats are not the best but they'll do!! P.S. Pat I think and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I might have met u at the Jones Beach show. I was the one behind you. I watched your stuff!! Great to meet a real PG fan. Have a great time at the show! Best wishes to all!!

themez-I met you at Jones Beach too. You were sitting right behind Pat. I walked over to see where Pat was sitting, I was the friend from FL that was sitting in the "other" section, and she was chatting with you when I walked up. So, I guess you and I think alike because I just bought a ticket today for Virginia. A concert ticket and a plane ticket! I found a great airfare on Jet Blue, and jumped on it. I bought a ticket for the show through a reseller-so I actually paid more for my concert ticket than I did for the plane ticket! Truth! What is your real name? I know Pat introduced us, but I don't remember...I don't recall...I have no memory.... See you in Fairfax! ~ Laura

Hi Again, themez!! I'm so happy that you're going to be able to make the show!!! Yay!!! The lunacy continues! Now, as far as your having met me at Jones Beach, I do remember you (and unfortunately don't remember your name -- I'm very good with faces, but not names, so pardon me). Are you the person who is originally from Chicago, went to the Philly show and was going to one more show (I thought Chicago, but perhaps it's Connecticut?). Also, I believe you stepped @ 2 inches outside of your seat into the aisle and the event staff person was all over it And lastly, you were one of the 3 people standing in our section -- you, me and the lady in the row in front of me, who kept switching seats with me when we stood to dance for reasons of her own. Anyway, we will have to get in touch pre-show or post-show. Kind regards and happy planning!

Oh, themez, when will you be traveling? how? I know that you're going to the CT show (or has that changed?) and were going to be heading down afterwards. No matter what, safe travels to you and I hope to see you at some point during the show. Laura -- I'm so excited that we'll be together again for the show -- even though your ticket will be in a different place, we'll at least be in the venue together Also, Gregg, Bev and Alissa will be there -- I wonder how many others? Speaking of prices of things -- Laura, your plane ticket costing less than your concert tix -- I just booked Harry at Pets Hotel again for two nights and his stay is costing me more than mine for 2 nights (when all is said and done because he gets the whole deal -- day camp, treats, grooming, etc., -- all because of my guilty feeling . All I know is that by next tour, Harry and I will work on his car sickness and he's going to do road trips with me, which is what I'd like him to do. So, PG will have a year of interesting things and Harry and I will have a year of "non-sickening things" -- not quite as much fun me thinks!

Hi Pat & Laura, I'm Ceil, the Jones Beach criminal and the crazy dancing transplanted Chicagoan. Can't have a great show experience without a little run in with security.-hee, hee. Pat, I figured you were the one ahead of me when I read some or your posts in the "Chicago audience was frustrating..." thread. It was disappointing to hear my home town crowd didn't put their blues on for Peter as much as I remember when I attended the So concert there 25 yrs ago. Much has changed with culture and the music world since then I'm afraid, and I think its showing up through out the country. Not to mention just plain advanced age. But for me and you we tried to rock it and that's just fantastic!! Laura, I think I remember you talking to Pat. I apologize if I'm a little fuzzy. Glad to hear you'll make it to Fairfax! Its hard to resist PG isn't it? Hope you have a safe and happy flight up from the sunshine state. Try to get the passengers hyped up with Peter tunes I've gone to three shows thus far Philly, NY and Boston. I'll definitely be going to the Connecticut show. I'd like to follow the roadies to Virginia on Saturday night hint, hint but I won't be driving down until Sunday. I decided to get a hotel room to avoid falling asleep on the road. I'm already resigned to the fact that I'll be spending a year or more paying off my Gabriel concert experience, but what the hell you only live once. Yes, maybe I'll catch you both at the show. For one thing I better hear your voices rocking very loud for the last show. Peace!!

Ceil!!! Now I remember your name! Thanks for the reminder Anyway. I wish you safe travels as you make your way from ct to va. I don't think you'll have to worry about us not having a little fun you will be sure to spot us I'm sure -- deb and I are in the center floor row 2 while Laura will be in sec 3 I think. So just look for us there. But maybe well see you before the show
Ela 5 October 2012 at 11:36pm Posts: 1334 (0 today) Status: offline
Hi Ceil! I will be sitting in Sec. 1 Row E...actually I'll probably won't sit much, mostly dance. I will discuss this with those around me, and hope that we can come to some sort of agreement, so everyone is happy. It seems that I have a run in with security at the shows as well. They don't seem to like it when I go into the aisle to spin during Secret WorldPost your seat info. and maybe we can all try to meet up after the show, or just before it starts. Safe travels...Laura

Got my ticket today!! It's pink. Very Cool. I'll be on the floor Sec 4 row J right in back of section 1. I don't know how much I'll be able to see from back there but I'm sure I'll be able to hear. I think I'll be dancing more like a sardine then when I was in the isle seat in Philly and NY. I would love to be up front but....chaaaa ching$$$ Pat are you going to the sound check again? If anyone doesn't show up I'm most certainly willing to step in (wink, wink...nod, nod... strong hint, hint again). Meeting up is cool with me. I tend to do a little tailgating before shows..If permitted. It's a university stadium I believe so they may have stronger rules. Before the show maybe we can have a little toast for PG's final show of the tour. Meeting at the end is cool as well. Maybe we can convince PG to stay around for a second encore!!!

I ditto the thank you Zen. A virtual toast to all the PG fans!!! Here's to another fantastic Gabriel experience. With a nod to Ela...lets do the Secret World twirl...hee...hee!!!
Ela 6 October 2012 at 5:58am Posts: 1334 (0 today) Status: offline
I'll be spinning and twirling during Secret World~it seemed to be appreciated or at least tolerated at the Philly show, but Jones Beach security did not like my aisle spinning at all! Had some issues there, and was forced back to my seat, and felt repressed-not a happy lunatic. I will try to make friends with those around me and include the nearest security personnel with my plans. Maybe that will make them more likely...I hope...to tolerate dancing, and general exhuberance with Secret World, Solsbury HIll, etc.... It's worth a try I think! Zen I wish you could make it for the final show in the tour. I know it's Sunday, but couldn't you maybe be a little 'under the weather' on Monday? Play hooky? Sorry...I'm a bit of a rebel sometimes...

Seriously thinking of going to the last show as well. Tomorrow I am going to look around for a good ticket and check airfare.
