I attended the Montreal show, 3rd pg show in the past 3 years! When has that happened?! Well, it has: 86-87-88! pg show #15 in my life. And, of course, it was phenomenal!!! Question 1: What is going on, production wise, at the end of The Family and the Fishing Net??? Main points: . pg's voice was excellent, similar to New Blood, eventhough he was dancing all over the stage! . Amazing, great back-up singers, especially Jennie. She really sang well and fit well with pg's songs (e.g. Don't Give Up was the best version I've heard live). . In 1986, I saw the So tour in Ottawa (I was 20, it blew my mind!). After playing Sledgehammer, pg calmed things down a bit by singing Flood. He introduced it as an "old friend". On the BTF tour, all these songs are now VERY old friends! Besides the first song, this show is all about "old friends". . In 1987, again pg played Ottawa and included That Voice Again. It was great to hear it this time. It was a very special moment maybe because it has rarely been played. But Manu's drumming was fantastic! . A lot of the songs were the same as 86-87 and production was similar. And the band was the same. So lots and lots of nostalgia!!! Great to hear Manu and David Sancious! . What is going on, production wise, at the end of The Family and the Fishing Net??? . I missed Youssou and band. But he's moved on to politics! . The Tower was excellent as a first encore! . It was show #2 of the tour, so a bit loose and nervous (pg didn't talk much between songs) but that gave a lot of energy! . I liked the idea of dividing the show into 3 parts. Part 1 should have included more improvisation and jamming (like in the studio). After pg's sabbatical, it will be great to hear some new tunes and a new album!
