Thanks JeuxSF, that's very good to hear as I've just ordered the Red Rocks Encore CD, along with San Diego (for Humdrum, of course)

At the moment, I'm thinking of getting Red Rocks plus one other to get a recording of Humdrum - San Jose?

Someone earlier in this or another thread said they felt that some of San Jose sounded a bit "off". Consequently I went for San Diego to get Humdrum. You pays your money, you takes your choice!

Yes, there was a problem in one of the songs, I believe Solsbury Hill, where Tony's bass went out or had some pick up problems in the arena. Don't know if it affected the sound board mix though.

i already purchased philly and chicago. the latter is the show i attended. i wanted red rocks for my third (and final) choice, but i need humdrum.

Well, I'm kinda partial to the Chicago show myself, not sure how much I need the live Hum Drum, were there any other songs added or whatnot in the final show. Forgive me it it's already mentioned in another thread, just posting as I go . Youtube may, or may not be your best bet to choose what you feel was the best version of any given song.

Hi, I was talking about the tech issues in the San Jose show. Primarily Solsbury Hill. My husband may have captured some of it on his iPhone. I'll see if I can get him to youtube it. Otherwise the show was fabulous.

Anyone have any feedback from Uncasville, where Humdrum was played and Feist sat in on Don't Give Up? Sounds like it could be a contender for a second show to go with Red Rocks. Let me know what you thought of the whole show if you were there. Cheers, Chris.

I was at Uncasville and Philly. I thought both shows were fantastic. Another difference in these two shows was "This Is the Picture". In Philly, the band played in a circle in the middle of the stage (with keytar, drumtar/drumstick?) and in Uncasville they played in the "traditional" band lineup. I preferred the uncasville version, but I'm looking forward to hearing both again. As for Feist, I thought she started off a little soft, but then totally nailed it. Full disclosure, I am a Feist fan, but singing that part is kind of tough since not everyone will love it, no matter how great a version it is.

Thanks, looks like it's Red Rocks and Uncasville for me.

I've just ordered my Encore cds -- Philly for me (an easy choice for me), Fairfax, VA (for the same reason -- I was there and it was a fabulous show!) and Hollywood Bowl -- I have it on good sound advice that it is one of the better shows. Although I attended Jones Beach, NY, I didn't purchase the cd -- it had so much Gabrielese in it that it became unenjoyable at some points (my own opinion, of course). An interesting note here -- Hollywood Bowl had to be purchased through RealWorld Holidings, while the others are from themusic.com. Not sure which ones I'll receive first, but it doesn't matter . . . as long as I get them. I also wanted Humdrum and am not even sure if it's in the Hollywood Bowl cd, but won't worry if it isn't.

Anyone know if the opening act is on the CDs as well? They only did a 4 or so songs but they were really great. Buying the Fairfax show, personally.

I've ordered the Philly show, Hollywood Bowl ( because it was suggested to me by several people ) and Fairfax.
Ela 19 October 2012 at 2:33pm Posts: 1334 (0 today) Status: offline
I hope Jenny A and Linnea O are on the Encore CD's too!
Pat Parker 20 October 2012 at 2:38am Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
Unfortunately, I do not believe that the opening act is included in the encore CDs. They never have been before, but who knows? Perhaps they'll include them this time round

Therefore it is not mentioned on themusic.com I am absulutly sure the opening act is not included. Even due to space reasons on the disk.

Um, er, in about a week can someone remind me I want to buy one or two of these anyway? I know I want to buy the Chicago show, not only because I was there, but because they were definitely 'on' that night. and am thinking the last show. Much as they may, or may not have been tired, that is usually the night all is given as rest is all there is afterwards. Really wish I could have been their. Oddly, even more then Redrocks. Anyway, please remind me.
Pat Parker 22 October 2012 at 2:12am Posts: 2683 (0 today) Status: offline
For Zen -- If you don't mind my opinion here, I wanted to let you know that the last show in Fairfax, VA was SO VERY WONDERFUL! and spot on!!! Seriously, I was worried about them being extremely tired from the long drive and show the night before, and they were tired (at soundcheck, you could tell they were tired), but I must say, they really gave it their all and it was all so wonderful! So, I just wanted to tell you that if I were you, I'd choose the Fairfax show also (already have chosen it, in fact ). I cannot wait for all of it to get here -- later this week, the SO package will be here and then shortly followed by the Encore CDs -- I'll be in heaven once again.

Thanks Pat, had a feeling it would be a good night to have. Wish I could have been there with the rest of you.

Was anybody at the San Diego show as this is the gig I have ordered from the Encore Series. Can't wait to hear it especially for OBUT, Family Snapshot and Humdrum!
