PG of all people should look into alternative venues for equitable ticket sales. Presale? Don't believe the hype.
Better tickets are often available during normal sales. Scalpers run software bots to snatch up the good seats. Fans waste their morning fighting for the dregs.
I am such a fan of the music but may just wait for the youtube cellphone videos to get my fix.
Come on PG and crew. Getting it together.

Pre-Sale is bullshit, I tried to buy 1st level price tickets at 10 am and there are "none available". I hope I can score some vip tickets tomorrow, this is horrible, this should be easy for us Fans, not extremely hard. I am extremely dissapointed at how all this is going, peter should dismiss Ticketmaster, they are the devil, seriously, they do not care for anything but money.

The only reliable way to run a pre-sale is to force people to pick them up with a photo-id at the box office. For an $11 service charge per ticket they can afford to pay someone to hand out tix.

While I admit I scored decent tickets I'm kind of shocked to see people come down on the PG staff so hard.
The most important thing to remember is that Gabriel doesn't charge for a fan club membership so in reality you're really not entitles to a special presale anyhow. Yes it's unfortunate that so many tickets are on Ebay and that the sound check tickets are so much but that's what they are.
Gabriel doesn't tour very often yet he's not gouging away like so many other groups. Stones charge five hundred a ticket and you're guaranteed nothing. Roger Waters charged as much as Gabriel and many others.
If you want to point fingers then point it at Ticketmaster or the venues for not making it will call only on the presales. That's the only way to do it.

Got pre-sale tickets for Starlight Theatre here in Kansas City.
The 10.00 a.m. local time thing didn't work well, as it was another 2 hrs. before I was able to get logged in. At least Starlight isn't TicketBlaster, but still was relegated to tickets way over on the side.
Wonder if better seats are held for the regular sale.
Checked today, and the entire section where I am is sold out & the only thing available is halfway back into the theatre. Those checking in on 5 April when general public sales open up will be surprised. Or will they?
Still, very much looking forward. Last time I saw Peter was in Houston for the "So Tour" in 1986.
cheers!

I had all kinds of trouble geting tickets through Ticketbastards website for Summerfest show on June 29. While I despise them, I don't fault Gabriel / promotion folks. As far as seats being held? Yes, if you're willing to drop the $ for special packages. The crazy thing is that while I was unbale to get tickets online for 2 hours through the official site, Stubhub (ticket broker) already had seats available at about twice the price for most and even had first row if you had a spare $650.00 or so to pay per seat. All that said, I'm going to PG again which will be the highlight of my summer!

The show and soundcheck packages are very expensive shocking in some respects.some folks wont be able to attend & the ticket brokers all want 250.00 and up which is unreal in this economy.PG must realize this.its a damn shame. The Camden shows prices are the highest of any act all summer for sure.

I too am going to the KC show and thankfully ticketing was handled by the venue. While I did have to rely on a fan post to get the pre-sale password since there was no official news posted here before the 10 a.m. start time, at least I was able to get tickets about an hour after the pre-sale started and ended up with pretty good seats, and without having to dish for the high-end tickets. I haven't seen Peter since the Security tour that stopped at Memorial Hall in KC 29 years ago and am really looking forward to the orchestral treatment of his music.

Comment from the first post:
Better tickets are often available during normal sales. Scalpers run software bots to snatch up the good seats. Fans waste their morning fighting for the dregs.
My response and question:
I bought my single ticket to Red Rocks Amphitheater (just west of Denver, Colorado) for $170.50. I tried several times to get a seat that was close to the stage and toward the center. After about 7 attempts, I was offered Row 6 seat 64. I figured that was as good as I was going to get so I accepted. Later that night, I checked back into Ticketmaster and a seat selection map feature was available. It showed no better seats than the one I acquired. The comment from the first post suggests I might have acquired a seat closer to the center if I had waited until the normal sale (rather than use the pre-sale). If I had waited, would I have bought the better seat from Ticketmaster or from a scalper?
Comment from another post:
If you want to point fingers then point it at Ticketmaster or the venues for not making it will call only on the presales.
My response and question:
According to the ticket receipt I printed immediately after my purchase, it says "Reserved Seating These Seats Are Will Call Only - No Exceptions No Alternate Pick Up Name Allowed"
However, the email confirmation from Ticketmaster has some conflicting information. It says "You will receive your tickets via: Will Call - Tickets held at Will Call can only be retrieved by the cardholder with original credit card and a valid photo ID . . . We'll email you when your tickets are printed and about to be shipped"
So, it appears my ticket is Will Call, but the last part above is confusing. Does anyone understand why the email mentions both Will Call and shipping tickets?

@Dagobah - it's TicketBastard, your guess is as good as ours.
