Ok, just in case we need to notify your next of kin, we need to get a roster of who will be attending this show.
All, kidding aside, the waterfront area is really a nice place, if you make it there, c'mon just kidding again.

Hope to see you there.

LOL!!! GTR A/K/A Lone Palm!!
I love your sense of humour regarding the lovely Camden Waterfront. But as you and I both know, it's not so much the venue itself that's a bad place, it's just the "surrounding" area - the town, itself :-] that will have us "running" for cover. :-] (Only kidding, folks, just like Lone Palm).
Okay, so, all kidding aside, indeed -
I will be attending the Camden, NJ show (griping and bitching the whole way there, but don't worry, I'll be all smiles when I walk inside :-] - I know it'll be a great show).
In addition to me, my sister, Anna, and nephew, Joe, will also be attending the Camden show, so if we do something where we need a head count - you can count us 3.
Let's get something going pre- or post-show. During the Still Growing Up tour in Camden, NJ (I always call it the "Growing Up in the Summer" - my own name for it and often forget it's not the official name of it) - we had a post-show gathering on the Philly side - at a pub/bar, appropriately named, "For Pete's Sake" - it's at Front and Christian Streets - still there and it was a nice place (from what I remember).
Kind regards to all and looking forward to seeing some lunies in Junie!

I'll consider going, Camden is only an hour drive from my house. I'm aware that Camden has a bad reputation but I went to a concert there last year and experienced no problems at all, didn't hear a single gunshot. Maybe I just got lucky.
Is Peter still doing that no drums, no guitar thing? If so then I'll probably not go, I want to see him in full rock mode.

In the Livenation Page there are some concerts with Orchestra and some just Peter Gabriel, The Camden Concert appears to be Peter solo, does anybody know for sure this?. I would love to go to the Orchestra show!

Good Morning, Lunies!
For Lanegan7 - Didn't hear any gunshots, eh? The concert was probably a very loud, heavy metal show - good at disguising those gun shots :-] LOL! Seriously, as you've said, going to/from the concert is not usually a problem as it's a very controlled area. However, you would never want to just roam the streets of Camden, NJ in broad daylight, driving a tank (well, perhaps a tank would do). :-]
As for your question regarding the show - this is Peter with The New Blood Orchestra - no drums, no guitars (although you wouldn't know it by the sound of things). So, if you want to see PG in his traditional mode, this would not be the show for you (however, if you desperately need to see Peter more than once a quarter-of-a-century, then I suggest you see this show - I don't think you'll be disappointed).
For Jaa - As I've mentioned above, this is the New Blood Tour and it will feature Peter with the wonderful orchestra - you'll definitely enjoy the show I think.
Kind regards all,

For Lanegan7 and For Jaa,
Listen to your Luna-Aunt Pat, she knows of what she speaks, this is not the all out full rock mode show, but it is the all out full rock show with that INCREDIBLE voice of Peter's backed by an incredible orchestra.
I would recommend keeping an open mind.

M0x1e, my new friend, we will be doing something for a pre or post or pre&post show gathering, keep in touch and check back here for details as they develop.

Why is camden the most expensive of the tour? i mean i would love to know the real answer.was it $265.00 or so for the pit seats that is insane.I will see him for the 8th time in sec 104 for $116.00 and that is plenty.

I dont know why either Flyguy, maybe extra security, just the cost of living and everything else here cost more. But I dont get it, even vip packages at outrageous prices, OUCH!
But I will be there!

I agree prices are really high this time. We got 3rd row tix for the Up tour back in 2001 that were $90, which I thought was high then. 3rd row tix now are about $500, that's quite a big jump for only 10 years. So maybe it's because the venue is small, and the costs to tour with the large orchestra. I also saw him at the same venue in 2002, and paid $1 for lawn seats.
Flyguy, I will also be in 104.
Also noticed that there are no lawn seats available this year? Will that mean that the back of the stage will be closed up in the middle of the summer?

After years of listening to Peter's music, dreaming one day I'd see him. well rest asure I am going! And frankly I didn't care where I'm sitting. just to be there is just enough for me.
So yes, I'm going to be there.
Sorry I've been lurking in the darkness.

Welcome, Blueeyedsuzie!!!! So glad to hear that you'll be attending the Camden show. Be sure to check out the thread, "Gathering the Gatherers" and add your name (if you'd like, that is).
We're hoping to be able to meet n greet with each other pre-show (and maybe even post-show), so keep an eye here and other places.
As for cameras, I believe the policy in most venues is that as long as the camera does not have a detachable lens, it's okay - not that it's really okay and they might stop you if they see you, but I don't think they confiscate things any more. (Now, in Camden, they will most likely do "pat downs" to check and depending on the event staff/timing/weather/mood you might not be able to even get it in the building.
I think the days of the mobile phones with cameras have changed all the rules - while in London, nearly everyone who had a phone was using it at one point or another.
As for the lawn seats - I don't believe PG's selling lawn seats (I think other shows will) - I think he wants to create a small cozy atmosphere, covered in the event of rain, and not have 1,000+ people out on the lawn. I imagine if you want to sit out on the lawn, it'll be okay, but I don't think they're going to be selling GA seats for it.
Still researching as to why the ticket price is so much higher than anywhere else - it certainly isn't because of the splendid view, nor for the sound quality of the venue. :-]
Kind regards to all,
flyguy

I did notice over 100 plus tickets in the 100 sections plus the nearly entire pit still available .The entire 200 section is still available as well. This show may take a long time to sell sadly.

Well there is the answer to the price of tickets for camden. If they do not sell lawn seats, the venue changes from a total of 25000 people to about 7000 - 8000 seats.
That is a huge difference in the amount of money they would bring in, hence, the extra 100 bucks a ticket!!!!
